I’m enjoying housing but i was very disappointed to see a 200 value limit for outdoor placement. This is insanely low to start it should be at least doubled. No complaints so far otherwise. bump if agree

I would like more outdoor placement especially if you use the flowers to make gardens. Also please let my sidewalk go to the road and not two feet before it

I haven’t interacted with it yet but I also think that it’s kind of low, granted there could be an item limit increase system I don’t know about.
Could also be a technical problem for Blizz/performance since the area isn’t instanced but houses are.

you can increase the decor limit by leveling your house up but 200 is way too low it feels very incomplete.

It wouldn’t be so bad if the dang trees and platforms didn’t cost 5 slots. I want to use the trees as large spooky hedges to surround my plot with. I want a wraparound porch/balcony. I can’t have both and then still have room to make my plot look less empty and sad with the cool clutter items.

There’s a post that talks about it. I’ll give you the TLDR:
In Alpha, streamers broke the servers by putting out as many lights as possible on their yard (which is the job of anyone in alpha/beta) so Blizz shut it off til they can optimize the servers to handle lots of lights better.

Agreed, I’m decorating with paths, stones, and ground clutter and to get it to a state I like I’ve only been able to fill out a very small portion of my plot with the 200 limit
I was hoping it would match the indoor limit as you leveled up housing.

I think if you have more than 200 things on your lawn, that’s a hoarding problem. At most setting out a dozen trees about seven or eight large decorated items 25 pathing stones and 40 pieces of fencing won’t even take you above 150. You can also thank the streamers who thought it would be funny to put 200 lamp posts in their yard and crash the server.
I disagree, some paths take multiple of the budget and if you are trying to create depth with grasses and flowers you can hit the 200 limit very easily.

it took me 32 sets of paving stones between three different sizes to get from my purchase post to my front door and my house is at the back corner of my property

Someone else in the forum mentioned it, but it’s just a temporary technical limitation.
The exterior of houses are not instanced at all and are placed in the open world. With 50 plots to a neighborhood, that can result in a lot of items having to be loaded in and handled by the servers, which are already under high stress due to the launch of the system and overwhelming demand.
They mentioned they will raise the limit when technically possible.

As I said, if you want depth to your build you can hit the 200 limit easily. I’m glad you like how your plot looks but it’s pretty bare to me. I like to add stone, grasses, flowers, spiderwebs, ivy, and other items to add detail to my plot.

Not really. The thing with video games and housing is that it looks better when it’s smaller - you see that in the Sims. The large, empty lots look pretty bad but when you scale them down they look 10x better.

You’ll run out of decor limit once you start making flower beds or farm plots. Or any other form of decoration bare your minimum setup.

The image you were seeing is only 117 hooks. I still have room for 83 more items. I just haven’t cluttered up the central area. I have a wine press with a covered wagon and some barrels off to one side. I have three chicken coops over under the other trees, as well as a few boulders and a very large well across the way. so I could still come in with 83 more objects and fill it up if I want to, but my plan is to put in a few few benches some more rose bushes and probably a little bit of ground clutter. The problem with the distance on that image is because I had to zoom back so far to get the whole thing that some of the items don’t even show like the dog house or the rosebushes by the front door doors.

i’m not gonna be setting up a farm or getting into finite details like spiderwebs. I’m sure the number of decorations will increase eventually as the house levels up, but we’re still in early access phase where the entirety of housing still hasn’t even launched until we hit midnight in March.
