Other Classes are Crazy

Does the dead internet theory apply to the wow forums? ain’t no way a human wrote an entire novel just to say they might try a hunter, mage, or warrior

This and they think that the devs don’t want the class in the game anymore

I’m sorry but I just had to comment on how ignorant THIS statement was. You are aware that there are melee mages in the canon of this game right? Spellblade Aluriel in Nighthold was one. They exist in nearly all popular fantasy media, typically depicted as Battle Mages, wielding weapons imbued with spells; a combination of martial and spellcaster archetypes.

I have seen more tempered feedback on the Rogue and Death Knight forums. The Warrior, Mage, and Hunter forums are rediculous.

I can’t reply to your subsequent post, but I stand by what I said, more “tempered feedback.”

Are you kidding me in the rogue Forum its we are so bad the devs do not want us in game anymore over a small nerf. They freak out every time they get a small nerf. I have no idea what you are talking about tempered. Hunters are complaining anytime bm isn’t top of the charts. Yea I can tell you “spend a lot of tiem in the other forums” lol

Sure.

I said it to be purposely self-deprecating, you know I am Elemental Shaman right? But, Enhancement is the closest archetype that we can play.

You’re a little defensive, maybe you missed the part where I said “genuinely curious”. I haven’t played in 8 years and I haven’t raided in about 12. Otherwise, thank you for your response.

As a person who mains a mage, I can tell you that the forums believe the sky is always falling as long as certain specs aren’t top of the damage meters. I never cared and just play frost or arcane as long as I’m having fun (never had that feeling with fire since the Legion redesign of Fire to focus on Combustion damage windows).

I am really enjoying mage, and I have never played it before.

I used my level 70 boost before checking the forums and when I saw some of the complaints, I had some regret and thought maybe I should have gone evoker.

That being said, once I read the complaints, I realized that the class would be fine for me because I am never wedded to just one spec. There is no reason why I couldn’t have multiple different builds.

Every mage build is spell dps, so it’s not a big deal to go arcane for pve and frost for pvp, at least that’s my theory.

And at some point, I am sure that fire will be better and then I could experiment with that spec.

I’m glad you’re enjoying it. Frost has traditionally been my favorite, but Arcane feels pretty good in dungeons right now.

You have to be careful when complaining about complaining. It makes your complaints a bit whiny.

A lot of feedback can be garbage, especially when nerfs come out. But everyone should be able to voice their opinion about the feel of their class/spec. Warlocks can get a lot of love, but dealing damage isn’t the only thing we care about if the playstyles dent feel good. Most warlocks feel like there are some talents/builds that don’t have very rewarding play. Our complaints do not outweigh the griefs of your classes. Let other classes provide feedback, and you can give pushback where you see fit.

feels a bit silly that I read this post and responded to it.

What is wrong with enhancement? I’m wrecking it in PVE. I don’t pvp, is that why they suck?

PvP is the issue. I love Elemental for PvE, the aoe dps we bring with Chain Lightning, Lava Burst Cleave, and Earthquake is exceptional. But, it doesn’t map over to PvP well.
