OSRS did it better

With people whinning about pacing already could you imagine every class change and new content release being voted for over the course of a week? It doesnt work in a wow style game.

Y’all brag on this like it isn’t the worst idea ever.

Then why aren’t OSRS forums flooded with backlash on content updates?

Yea even on OSRS this doesn’t work out always. And it also took a few years before things even really started passing polls. The community really didn’t like change at first, the devs were saying it was really demotivating at first.

There’s usually like 1 online the forums and its getting deleted. lolol They use Twitter

Saying this, OSRS will always be my baby. Ranked 1300~ Ironman.

Wanted to come back and say one big massive reason the community is even the way it is. Is because of one of the early people that are still in the company.

God Ashe. They also do things like recently picked up a well known Pking Youtuber, Manked. To do updates with the game related to PVP.

They just couldn’t compete at that level XD The man has nearly 500k posts mostly replying to players/community. And all the devs do a great job as well.

They deal with the same toxicity but still aren’t toxic or anything back. Every once in a while you get a smirky GG from God Ashe.

Totally different atmosphere then here.

Go out into the world, have experiences, and find out for yourself.

No kidding. Osho said it best.

Kinda reminds me of PlatinumWoW suddenly getting picked up to do WoW lore videos for the official WoW youtube channel, including a pre-launch SoD video going over all the new features initially advertised for the season.

wow players have a very romanticized vision of osrs, for every positive there is a negative, +their community is massively different, ill give you one example

• Their game is very very grindy and they mostly vote in favour of respecting the grind, to get max level it would be thousands of hours. Our community would vote to make level 99 take like 5 hours so they don’t have to login more than 43 minutes per week

I didn’t watch them but yea that’s really good to do :stuck_out_tongue: People patinate about the game is always a good choice.

Yea some can do fully max in a thousand maybe 2 thousand hours but most players won’t play max efficiency. Like for me I focused on bosses and didn’t max till recently.

Changing skills/grinds are always a super hard pitch to that community and surprised a skill and new area got accepted even. It’s always give or take with skills as well. If it’s fast it needs to cost a lot or be super click intensive, where as if it’s slow it’s generally afk.

Most skills range from 50-200k exp/hr with some going higher but would be click intensive, and to max it’s 13m exp. Takes a hot min.

Hit the nail on the head here.

Havent played runescape since 2006. Amazing its still going strong, hope classic wow is like that 20 years from now too

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s because Microsoft has the Classic dev team splitting time between the various Classic projects.

Wait, don’t SoD and Cata classic devs have different offices in different parts of headquarters or do they work together on the same stuff??

That could be confusing to have Tom and Jerry in the next cubicle talking about something else and throwing off the vibes

Yeah, Aggrend seemed to indicate that he and his team are involved in Cataclysm.

Aggrend commented on SoD 3 days ago on Twitter. I bet the whole SoD team is like 10 people. Seems like a lot of people overreacting…
Sorry shaman is so strong, but seeing as I got one to 40 since the last patch and already tanked gnomer with it… go make one instead of crying about it. (that being said… they, do need to be fixed… they do almost everything rogue and warrior do, but better than both)

@AggrendWoW

Heya friends, kinda been quiet on here recently and I’m sorry for that. The team and I have been hard at work on things for Phase 3 (and Cata!). We’ll have some sweet phase 3 info out pretty soon. Thanks!

Guess which people are voting for the changes.

I wouldn’t trust forum goers to pick where we’re having lunch.

The same people that use Twitter are voting for changes.

You know the ones that also cry all the time as well.

Welcome to gaming.

As God Ash once said to a person who asked him why he does he do it even, when he gets days where he gets so much hate.

“I do it for the ones that are worth it, not for the ones who aren’t.” It’s apart of gaming, even the big Youtubers will dump on a bad update there. It’s how it is.

If players could vote we’d have actual retail within a week.

People against voting just shows they don’t even have faith in their own community, so what are you fighting for?

RS3 still exists and OSRS is not even close to it, this vaporizes the argument that Classic WoW would just become retail.
