Almost every time I get a quest from any NPC it involves killing something.
So what’s changed?
The good ‘ol days.
I miss when Blizzard had writers with enough range to write each race differently.
Just further proves the point. Treating the orcs with kid gloves and expecting the writers to write a universe where their unending bloodlust and conquest society while everyone else just shrugs and goes “guess it’s my turn to be dominated” is stupid and superior forces, like the Alliance, are going to react.
That is the inherent flaw with warrior society. You’ll eventually find a bigger/stronger foe or get done in. Look at modern tyrants IRL and how secretive and the lengths they go to have body doubles and small inner circles.
Technically speaking, the orcs are literal invaders to Azeroth. They should consider themselves lucky they weren’t exterminated by the Alliance/humans when they first got put in their place. They blew up their own world and yet got to stay in ours despite coming over and immediately trying to kill everyone.
Pretty sure we received an invitation from a human mage to come over. Not our fault we were blasted…
That invitation was not approved by the leaders in charge at the time plus you were all the literal worst guests anyway. Like you even wore your shoes and stomped around brining your other world funk and germs with you. So not cool.
Edit - We even tried rehoming you and you all threw a fit about that too. So ungrateful. 1 star and only because I can’t go lower.
It’s been 40 years since the First War.
I’d say 40 years might make people go from “uga buga orc smash!” to “hey, what if we sat down and talk instead?”
That sounds pretty metal, why wasn’t I invited?
You mean when they wrote one race as generic antagonists who do nothing but attack people for no reason, and one as generic victims who do nothing but sit there and take it? Yeah, I’m glad they moved on from that.
As nature had intended
Those non-gamers genuinely think dragonflight’s writing is good, it’s unbelievable

Gorgonna was in the lore since Wrath when she defeated her sister Krenna because Krenna was overly aggressive and warmongering.
so? time its not measure for quality.
Orcs did this orcs did that.
For Titans sake, all we want to do is fight! Is that so wrong?
But who really did more damage? I for one believe that we were completely justified in our mass genocidal campaign. Seeing as the demon who tricked us WAS AN EREDAR!!!
Checkmate dweebs
probably meaning as in passionate about thier projects, current year blizzard is not the same as blizzard of past years and it shows in the game

For Titans sake, all we want to do is fight! Is that so wrong?
Yes.
I mean, to be clear, the orcs don’t just want to fight, they want to conquer and enslave. Grom made that perfectly clear in Warlords, that even without the Legion’s influence, he still wanted to slaughter people and drive them from their lands.
And that is, in fact, so wrong.
No it’s just what the orcs are. They’re a militaristic society like the Mongols or the Dothraki in GoT. They have a code of honor and some more peaceful factions but their larger society is built around militarism and reverence for the strongest. If the Democratic community council of leaders isn’t allowing them to fight and conquer, a strong younger orc would eventually overthrow them to become the new warchief, with the full support of most of the orcs. The way they’re writing it now is antithetical to the culture they created. They can try to retcon and rewrite stuff all they want to suit 2023 California culture but it makes no sense in the game world. Even if they want to push the agenda they’re obviously trying to push, the orcs would work better as a foil than what they’re doing.
Fact is, a militaristic society like the orc horde would be looking at the rudderless alliance with it’s crying emo kid leader Anduin out in the desert and be seeing a pretty ripe target for conquest. Of course the deux ex machina writing would probably save them, but that also wouldn’t make much sense in the game world. It’s not just the horde, they’re making the alliance weird and lame also.

so? time its not measure for quality.
Says orc clans of the old days were best.
Says orcs clans nowadays suck.
Says time is not the measure of quality, while using time as the measure of quality.
We orcs have no say in what our doubles may or may not have said or done while not being under the influence of green soup.
P.S- We just felt threatened by the blue people showing up is all
P.P.S- Elves have done so much worse than us humble orcs
You again with your male Orc fetish.
You should try writing fan-fictions instead of… whatever this is.
looks both ways

Me?

avoid the large amount of whining that plagues society today.
And then we end up getting a large amount of whining from people like the OP

Me?
Not you, referring to the OP.
I probably should’ve had that clarified in the first place. lol

Somehow everyone gorging themselves on feasts, getting hammered, and countless fist fights breaking out is the orc clans going soft
Also, fights were forbidden in the old one. If anything, orcs were way softer in Rise of the Horde.
