Option For One-Handed Swords on the Back!?

I can imagine you as a Dwarf running through that M+ with that long sword dragging along the floor…sparks flying everywhere!

“I’m coming…klank…guys…klank…one sec…damn meh boots on fire…gimme a minute folks be right there!”

big swords just look cooler on the back., thats what we care about in wow

same is true for rogues, it doesnt make much practical sense to put daggers on your back, but they look a lot better there

Right? Luckily I am a wizard as well as a warrior and have mastered the abilty to phase solids through one another.

I imagine the threshold for “this weapon must be carried like a polearm rather than sheathed” is a lot lower for people of shorter statures though.

I’m not denying that or arguing that they should be on the hip. I’m just speaking historically is all.

It’s actually a lot more practical than sticking a two hander on your back. At least you can properly draw the things!

Talon of Azshara is as big as a two handed sword and sheathes on the hip. It’s alsmost exactly the same as the Untamed Blade :expressionless:

I don’t mind daggers on the hip…as long as they’re small, but the big ones should go on the back. They’re practically swords. Looking at the list of new swords I’ve gotten from this expansion and last, I don’t see any that go on the back. They’re all on the hip, which sucks. You’d think that Blizz knows people want swords on the back, but for some reason they keep not doing that. I hope that with us talking about it, they’ll seriously consider giving us an option in the future, or make more swords fit on the back.

I think there’s opportunity here for more advanced customization, transmog should come with sheath options (maybe for cost too. I wouldn’t mind it)

Dragonscale-Encrusted Longblade. google it. your welcome

There is a 1hand axe from ICC that goes on your back. I am not sure what it’s called, but looks good for a frost dk transmog.

Thanks friend <3

I totally agree. I mean, if they’re gonna force us to dual wield as a Frost Death Knight, then make it look better for us by giving us more sword choices that go on the back. I’d be okay with a transmog option for “Sheath on the back”. More cosmetic options aren’t a bad thing.

I was just looking at this on my DH. Really don’t like the hip location for dual wielding one-handers. I’d love to see a transmog option where we can choose if they are on our back or side.

I know it’s bringing back an old thread, but after trying to find good weapons on the back for my warrior tank, they REALLY need to give us the option of putting weapons on the back. It’s been years…why not do this?

well its 2023 and still no sheathe on back option for many weapons. I don’t get it by now you would think this could be a thing.

Kil’Ruk’s Furious Blade from Siege of Orgrimmar Klaxxi Paragons

Is there a minimum post count or something to post links? I tried and failed. If you want to look at a good shot of them being dual wielded by a dwarf look up my toon Zeddey-Darkspear. Anyway they do sheathe on your back, I was so frustrated I had destroyed my blades from Zul’Gurub that also sheathed on your back.

Felsteel Longblade does as well and shameless plug, Zedediah-Darkspear can smith em up for you no charge as long as you supply your mats

blizzard likes players to look and feel stupid. look at how they design their npcs bosses etc and then look how theyve designed the player options Horde is mostly silly and ugly and alliance is plain ugly. The female elves were once fairly attractive and then they changed them to ugly. The males were always ugly looking like old men in their 80’s. Its clear they want players to feel silly and less important or capable.

Maybe a tickbox on the weapon itself telling the game how you want to carry it? Hip/back/invisible could be choices. This could be an transmog option. Maybe right or left side could be options as well.

It’s crazy that this thread is still going and we STILL don’t have any options for one-handed weapons on the back. We’ve gotten a couple new ones that fit on the back, but most of them are still hip only. Blizz, PLEASE consider changing this up. It’s obvious that the contact points are already in the game since Monk weapons are always on the back. Just allow us to toggle like we can with shoulders. It would drastically open up weapon options for a lot of classes.
