Opinions matter unless you cite "facts" without sources

Mm… you might not be 100% correct there. GD is under the “Community” heading, which has the description of “Discuss World of Warcraft”.

And the stickied Blue post up top there says in its second sentence, “This forum is here to provide you with a friendly environment where you can discuss all aspects of World of Warcraft with other players.”

That post also says, “The forums here are specifically to discuss the game and related topics. Any topics not related to World of Warcraft, Battle.net, or Blizzard Entertainment are subject to deletion.”

So! GD is just about World of Warcraft. Anything else isn’t allowed and could be nuked from orbit by a Draenei spaceship.

Darn, i want to play some of these gamecube games on 1080p 60fps. That Super Mario Sunshine and Kirby Airride looks dope as heck.

I agree with this. I should rephrase and say general discussions lead down paths that aren’t just about World of Warcraft.

You are correct. That is the general purpose of this forum. However, it rarely stays on topic.

Yes, nuke it.

I was suggesting to think before you write.

Also, I am not perfect.

People dislike facts, and like to make stuff up to fit their narrative. It’s funny when you can demonstrably show somebody to be so wrong, and they dig in their heels while being unable to prove their right.

The fact your post was flag bombed by trolls that don’t like to back up opinions with facts says everything.

If this is the wrong venue then why do people spend endless hours in general chat and trade chat engaged in political debate where both sides of the debate clearly could benefit from reading the OP.

Yes, it is called information bias. As long as it fits in what they believe it is truth.

You… You are making a forum post about some News networks when it’s common knowledge that you will never get fully unbiased news?

Go post that on Facebook or whatever, what even is this?

She is making a post to tell the message of using creditable evidence to back up your claims, statements, arguments, etc and her post happens to have news as the bad examples.

Fox News is not a “News” Network. They label themselves as an “Entertainment” Network.

Other news outlets label themselves as “News.”

Bias or not. It is the truth.

Read their ToS, which I provided earlier. I am sorry this upsets you.

I do not have a Facebook account. Sorry to disappoint you.

However, the point of this post was to think before you type.

I can insert any BS source if you would like. It was an example, an easy one, in fact, as they use this argument in court. They being Fox.

Fiery but mostly peaceful protests.

I see, well, they are not wrong, still, this reeks politics for me, doesn’t seem to be related to any sort of WoW discussing they had that clearly made them annoyed.

Again, you clearly made a post about Fox News first and foremost, regardless, you could have made the same analogy about all the people that talk about “Everything Blizzard do is for the 1%”, “90% of the people hate Kul’Tirans” and so on, but no, you chose something that had nothing to do with the forums which can only lead one to assume this has much more to do about something you felt angry about IRL than being upset about something related to General Discussion within the realm of World of Warcraft.

I care not if Fox News, CNN or whatever your news channels talk about are right or not, I am not even North American and I haven’t watch anything on my TV other than Netflix and Amazon Prime for years now.

At least you now admit you are trolling. There is some progress!

MSNBC liberal leaning is not a “News” channel.

You made this about politics, I did not.

That was not an admit. I called him a troll, and he reversed uno on me.

I do agree, this and the virus are really bad examples to bring up while suggesting advice on how to conduct yourself in an argument, debate, etc… And i think the OP is digging that hole deeper and deeper here by responding to people about this bad example. And i say this as somebody who agrees with OP’s message. Honestly since the OP were talking about Edu links, she could’ve picked something like frogs catching stuff with their tongue as for an example.

I mean, give me other relevant examples, and I will change them.

These are two things that are often mentioned on the forums.

If people want to be political, then we can add MSNBC as a non-news entity.

COVID is not political. It is a disease. People make it political.

You make some good points. You could probably change the language a bit to make it more positive though. Instead of focusing on the negatives, point out how you appreciate posts more when they cite sources. It’s unfortunate people are seeing it as a thread to intentionally cause unrest on the forums.

I may have put the word politics in, but you are an adult, you know what you are doing and you know the connection between those channels and political parties on the US.

What a surprise, I gave you those!

And I repeat -

  • People throwing around that every single decision Blizzard is making is for the “1%”, never any backed up sources.

  • People hate “x” race, never any backed up sources.

  • Fix “x” spec, no one likes the way it is. Happens a lot when it comes to discuss melee and ranged survival ranged, and as always, never any backed up sources.
