You can just, not watch. This is a non issue.
I think much like you. I don’t see much point in putting time into betas or test realms on any games for a couple reasons.
- The progress doesn’t carryover, all games are in sense a waste of time but when you won’t even keep items, etc it seems pointless.
- They rarely respond to feedback, which is the point of testing. And I’m sure I’ll get the reply “well they fixed X because of feedback,” but they also ignored Y and Z.
If you’re a streamer then I’m sure beta testing for a while is good for views, but once you’ve done a beta or two you lose that excitement or at least I did.
You have eyelids and fingers? Close your eyes or click something else. Are you strapped to a chair with your eyelids held open?
It’s on you to avoid spoilers and stay out of the WoW social media space then ![]()
We already know what the 12.1 zone will be too ![]()
Why if you just don’t watch it?
And free testing. They can just watch their Excel spreadsheets populate with success or failure while they collect money on their yachts because nobody is actively monitoring the game anymore. Then when their subscriptions fall below acceptable levels they release an intern from the dungeons who has the ability to change exactly one thing.
But seriously, when has beta testing done any good; it seems much of what is discovered often makes into final release

Because you have no self control? lol
No.
You all say this type of thing as if it’s some sort of “gotcha” response. I don’t understand why people have to be nasty about it.
I am not complaining about how Beta spoils the expansion (it does). Of course I can avoid watching beta content if I choose.. That is not the issue that I am pointing out.
I am saying that the way that a lot people experience the expansion for the first time is objectively the worse possible way to experience an expansion for the first time. Blizzard could probably have a much better reception and genuine hype and excitement if they didn’t leave the reveal up to a bunch of random people who do not have their best interests in mind.
Almost never true with any forum post.
Marketing is not the primary purpose of the “Beta Test”. People often forget about that second word.
It’s really not that easy when it shows up in all of the wow content sources. It becomes pretty impossible not to get things spoiled even when trying to avoid it. The only workaround is to completely cut off all wow related content until the game launches.
Okay but other people who agree with you can also just not watch it.
Why do you feel that everyone else needs to be limited by your personal opinion on this? We all have the same choice you do.
Ah ye lemme just not interact with anybody while also continuing to play the game in any meaningful capacity ya
So it’s extremely easy.
Everyone decides how to experience it the first time, who are we to tell them if they’re right or wrong
Not difficult at all, most sites title articles “midnight spoiler…” and streamers title their stream “playing beta.”
don’t click on those. I’ve been able to look up things about remix and retail without seeing any spoilers
Not at all no. If you are on the forums you will be spoiled. If you open YouTube and have viewed past wow content you will be spoiled. If you watch any content creator you will be spoiled.
Nonsense. Spoilers are in titles all over. Open YouTube open the forums open reddit it’s all got spoilers visible before you can do anything about it
All easily avoidable. Like, to a ridiculous degree. If you don’t want spoilers, it’s easy to do.
No it isn’t but you can keep lying about it if you like
