yeah this is the part that bugs me more than the item itself. it’s more that some specs (including outlaw, which i like and want to keep playing) are designed in a way that procs like this are so much more valuable than basically any amount of secondary stats. if they fix that underlying problem, i’d be much less concerned about any one piece of gear.

exactly. outlaw is like a c-tier spec and losing an item that’s doing 8-10% of our overall isn’t good news. [edit: lol subcreation has it c-tier for this affix set and d-tier overall. oof]

yes, they said they’ll give compensating buffs. i’m crossing my fingers but gearing my priest :cowboy_hat_face:

Irrelevant. The buff is to compensate for the ring’s nerf.

Right there with you im working on some alternatives. I dont think people are understanding how impactful this is ww gets a 2 percent buff currently. Thats not enough to replace something doing 8-10 sometimes even up to 15 percent dps depending on gear, fight, and player skill

Might be because the rings damage % was less for prot paladins than DKs because prot already does higher damage without it

Exactly thats another factor. Sure the ring does 8-10 dps but maybe thats because its on specs that do on average 10k-20k less on st so of course the ratio of damage is gonna be way higher for them.

Hmm… Well, it is what it is. I actually didn’t mind that it was still potent in 10.1, mostly because I don’t feel the need to replace every slot every patch, but I can understand the flip side as well so I’m good with it.

Maybe answered somewhere already (haven’t read every post yet), but seems like this might end up being an extra push out of the Lariat as well? I’ve just been hanging on to it because, well… frankly, I’m lazy, but having the extra stones seemed to keep it as not being too bad of an option. Wondering if I should finally get off my duff and make something else.

Im getting that impression which is kind of what makes this community so toxic. No one is addressing people’s concerns. I made a post merely stating that the 2 percent buff wasnt enough for reason A through C and all i was met with was people who had no knowledge on the spec, didnt care because it wasnt there spec, or acted like my issue was invalid because other specs were worse off. Very few things are worse off then ww right now, so that was kind of amusing. Would be a lot better if people achowledged peoples issues as legitimate instead of blowing them off because the things like the ring are a bandaid for much larger issues.

But your issue is not legitimate. You keep claiming the ring does 15% of your damage. A quick look at high end ww logs and you own logs shows its more between 6-10%.

They told us multiple times that if the annulet continued to be bis, they would nerf it. They wanted us to replace it with heroic rings. They did not want the ring to become long term borrowed because us have players have told them we do not want that.

They followed through on what they told us they would do.

A 10% buff is an unreasonable number. Especially since you continue to omit that a heroic ring correctly stated is worth 4ish %. More if socketed.

Ppl making a big deal about a 424 ring being bis in 10.0.1 while I stare at my bis 421 eranogg ring… which is slowly starting to look alot like dragonspine trophy

Youre the one that has continously misrepresented my words and its starting to get really annoying so please stop. One you are incorrect aboht the value of ring secondary stats for a monk otherwise this wouldnt be an issue and 2 you are purposefully ommitting that i am saying 10 to 15 based on skill gear and fight which is correct. I have had my ring be 15 at lower levels ive had it 8-12 on different fights and theres no telling its impact on the range of monks at different moments…

An 80% nerf to the enhancement tier bonus? Are you actually joking me? So rather than make it for either lightning bolt or chain lightning you gut it like a fish and give us some small st buffs to compensate?

Instead change the damage bonus to 50 or 60% and have it effect lightning bolt and chain lightning so its useful in all situations if you dont want us using chain lightning for single target. Absolute joke of a dev team.

In min-maxing there have been several cases where despite the ilvl discrepancy, gear is not an upgrade, you’re speaking as if this is a new concept.

Not to mention the fact that even if everything you said was honest and correct your info would still be flawed. You claim a ring is 4 percent right? Youre also saying the logs say the current ring is worth 6-10 correct. They are buffing us 2 percent. Meaning thats still a net nerf at best case scenario around 2 per on average. On one of the worst performing boss damage specs. Thats not good.

I was in disbelief reading those patch notes. Unfortunately (for me lul), I’m cancelling my subscription if the patch hits live servers as is. It’s such a demoralizing feeling to play one of the worst specs right now, and then they continue to make it worse, I’m floored by these design choices.

I’ve thought for a while that they should just add mainstat to rings. It is always annoying to me that a lot of the time I end up using a low item level ring because I get a bunch of rings with non-optimal secondary stats. This would be alleviated for the most part if they added mainstat to rings (probably would naturally fix the issue with onyx annulet too).
