Onyx Annulet Changes

If only the balance team at blizz knew how to make stats scale with everyone so they wouldn’t need a borrowed power item to stay competitive.

Oh if only hunters and monks DPS were fixed to be better scaling…if only blizz cared enough to give them a real buff and not some minor 2% that won’t keep them afloat at all…

Which is why they’re being nerfed into the ground now. Because they were meant to be powerful.

No. Im not implying any of that.

You obviously didnt read any of the legitimate reasons why this is a terrible idea because of how certain underpreforming specs scale worse with secondaries than others do.

Just to confirm. Blizzard following through on a promise they made, to nerf the ring so it did not become expansion wide borrowed power for everyone, is terrible because 2 or 3 specs need design changes instead of being propped up by borrowed power? Ok.

What?

I have no idea how HPal is meant to contribute competitive damave in keys once the ring is nerfed and they additionally receive nerfs in pretty much everything and Holy Power spenders are also going to cost mana

Lmao

I would like to see your data showing that these were the same players.

They 100% are not the same players. That is the problem. One set of players is happy playing the game. Another set complains. Blizzard listens to the complaints and makes changes.

The second set of players says thank you and goes and plays. The first set goes “wtf” and comes to the forums to complain. Rinse. Repeat.

By all means give feedback. But don’t blindly rage about changes while pretending that blizzard isn’t getting opposite feedback from other players. At some point we need to accept a compromise.

The belt doesnt have stones in it giving it insane abilities giving you huge % chunks of damage.

But it increases your damage just the same. The boss doesn’t care what the damage source is coming from. If a belt is worth 5% damage and the ring is worth 10% that doesn’t suddenly not make both “borrowed power” just because one is worth more.

All gear is borrowed power.

Not as much as the stones. The stones are the problem, for some classes they are literal % of a classes dps which is NOT ok. A belt can never do that. All a belt does is give you stats.

The thing is though those specs were still below dps in most cases compared to other specs and now they are gonne be even farther below… it was a bandaid and now most of them will be bleeding out again.

Which, again, is indicative less of the fact that the Onyx Annulet was good for the game (you wouldn’t catch me dead saying it was) and more of the fact that the classes that use the Onyx Annulet for DPS purposes have massive scaling issues on a fundamental level.

Which has always been true of Windwalker and the Rogue specs.

Ooh! An aoe-capped D tier spec will lose the one thing it has going for it! MM too, I guess. Yay for borrowed power doin’ it’s thang :tada:

Yes but blizzard has made it clear that they have little intention of fixing the issue at least most likely not in the near future, and if they arent going to do that those classes need gear like the ring and big dps trinkets to stay viable.

And I do believe we’re both in agreement that they should probably prioritize fixing those specs’ massive scaling issues.

classic dev’s
“how do we make them stop using low ilvl items?”
just kill the items with %.

Oh we totally are. More then anything i want fundamental tree changes or at least stat changes, so i dont have a completley dead stat. Im just being realistic and saying most likely that wont be happening anytime soon so there are severaly specs that need some form of bandaid which we had and now its gone. Most of the people saying its a good change are completley ignoring major underlying problems. Most likely because it doesnt affect their spec if im beng honest.

Its also not like the rings were making specs overperform. It was actually keeping some barely above water which adds to the reason i think this is bad and dont see the point. Its basically weak specs getting weaker strong specs staying the same.

Prot paladin gets 4%…

Cant imagine why a god tier class needs smaller buffs
