Only one character got treated worse than Vol’jin

I’m not much for Zandalari lore and couldn’t really get into the Zandalari characters… I’m more of an Amani guy. I actually found the blood trolls more interesting.

Maybe its because the Zandalari have the whole Maian thing going on and I was never big on Maian stuff.

The worst-treated character in the game was Garrosh.

He started off as an honorable warchief. in Stonetalon he refused to harm neutral innocents. He only wanted to do what was best for his people to make his dead father proud. However, the pressure was just too much for him, and the incompetence of the other leaders eventually made him snap! He resorted to the power of an old god to try ending the war forever so his people could be free to leave the barren wasteland that is Durotar.

Cruel and heartless people like yourself were afraid of someone fighting for what they believed in, so you struck him down. Then you locked him away to rot. Luckily, someone else believed in him and set him free to another timeline. He was finally able to work together with his father, something he always dreamed of, but he had to keep his relation a secret. Then the murderer Thrall cheated with the power of the elements when he saw that he couldn’t win in a fair fight! Luckily the elements punished the cheater by taking away his powers, but by then it was too late. The greatest warchief of the Horde was lost forever. :broken_heart:

The impression I got with the Zandalari was that they are a conniving and backstabbing people when it comes to politics. So Rastakahn picking the people he did for his council was a matter of keeping your friends close but your enemies closer.

Not really.

Yeah probably. Like I said earlier, I wasn’t very invested in the Zandalari stuff and likely got stuff wrong.

This x1000

And to sell his entire blood line to Bwonsamdi…

Really? Rastakhan? You think Tyrande or Malfurion weren’t treated way worse? Did you play last expac (Val’Sharah and “Oh Malfurion!”; War of Thorns and Valkyrie being the only revenge :/)

Rastakhan’s entire purpose is the story is to screw things up for the Zandalari and pretty much everyone by repeatedly making poorly advised and hasty decisions. He has been this since at least cata… I don’t know why people are saying he was “shafted”. Yes, he clearly had some honor and love for his people and loa, but… he constantly failed in execution. His biggest failure we’ve seen is selling the royal bloodline to Bwonsamdi.

He’s a worse character than people want to believe he is, since he seems so glorious. That’s probably how he kept power. A charade carefully painted by Zul.

Fandral Staghelm did nothing wrong and got shafted for it.

Last I checked, Tyrande and Malfurion are still breathing and their characters survived.

The “Malfurion my love” part is really misunderstood by the community, as Malfurion was being impersonated by Xavius during that section of the story.

Whole lot of ignoring Anub’arak in here. It’s ok, Blizzard did to. :pensive:

They did survive. However, they have been written out of their main adversary for whatever reason and their “vengeance” was killing one of Sylvanas’ valkyries and losing to dead bow boy. But Rastakhan was treated a bit poorly.

Oh I know. I was being slightly sarcastic with that statement. :stuck_out_tongue:

he was so much nicer of a character than his bland generic daughter

RIP our boi Rastakhan

No. They have not. This is all player conjecture.

“I’ve taken care of everything.”

Considering the huge nod to Arthas, I agree that maybe Rastakhan could have been a more prominent antagonist to both factions, but the writing was on the wall as soon as he said that.

he HAD been a good king at one point…i knew he was going to die as soon as i met him.
theres not really anywhere they could have went with him and also make his daughter a more interesting character. it also was needed to set up the baine thing.

This is you ignoring the facts.

because they needed another female in charge
