O'NEAL stepped down cause she was tokenized and had zero faith in Activision

More ammo for the peeps suing Blizzard?

She led an entire studio. She wasn’t a janitor.

and I wish the alt-right would stop using “virtue signaling” as a pejorative dog whistle but here we are.

Fun fact, you can be tokenized and still have the merit and qualifications to do a job, it just means you were exploited for the wrong reasons.

Janitor leads the cleaning crew still doesn’t mean she or he would be qualified.

Not even comparable to her leading Vicarious Visions.

You can hire based on merit and the inclusive things they want. Unless you think there are only a handful of qualified applicants, which is safe to assume is not the case. You can hire merit based just fine what your suggesting is not what’s happening.

why are so many people ignoring the fact that she was paid LESS for the same position?

I don’t know the optics but do we know which of the two had been employed longer with blizz? What their resumes looked like?

You can be paid less for the same position for a number of reasons. People seem to think gender is the SOLE reason why. She could not have a bunch of knowledge the other guy has for example. Her area of expertise may not be where it’s needing to be. It could be that she requires more extensive training to fill the role. ALL of this is speculation and not one person here knows.

If they had identical qualifications and she was paid less, then that’s an issue certainly.

Narrow sights.

She needs intensive training despite leading a whole studio? But he doesn’t despite only leading the bnet app?

Reeks too much of late stepping on the bandwagon.

Do you know what is exactly on their resumes? Cuz I don’t.

I don’t think you do either. Speculating is just ridiculous tbh. Honestly it seems like some people just seek any reason to argue.

Vicarious Visions was absorbed its natural for the leads to stay in a similar position. Does she think normal business practices is virtue signalling?

Well some people are really better in the salary negotiation phase than others.

YOu see this is why many companies have strict no ask no tell salary clauses. They can and will low ball here.

At some point the applicant determines their pay. We say X, you say y and make your case. And at some point salary z is settled upon.

Come in find out you presented or accepted 20K lower? Negotiate better next time. and HRO would like to know how you knew that in the first place most likely.

They have company profiles that you can read or you can just Google. It’s not like information about them is secret.

I am not going to explain the things that are already explained to WHY somebody can be paid less any more.

It just goes into the same old boring circle… the poster Duvainil explains another very valid reason as well.

Then don’t, but there’s plenty of information out there in these articles and the few lawsuits that show what environment exists at Activision-Blizzard. And to pretend it’s different is just sticking your head in the sand.

Just when things started to look good for Blizzard, the scandal reopens. I don’t think this will end until Bobby is gone…
