Lol badges.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but it didn’t hold a candle to raid gear.
Valorstone bind on warband is this expansions equivalent and is only enough to get you to normal palace raiding.

Yes, honey, it did. And all of the raiders were angry that we could get those “welfare epics,” and that’s why they were called that.
You just proved you don’t know what you’re talking about.
This game hasn’t been raid or die since Vanilla. BC introduced daily quests, Wrath introduced welfare epics and group finder, and it just went on from there.
And now… I’m not wasting any more of my time here.
To be fair, I think there was more to it than that.
I remember a lot of beta players warning that the levelling was poorly paced (i.e. it took very long), and I can vouch that this was true, as I didn’t get beyond level 25 before the game went F2P.
This probably contributed greatly to the lack of players at end game to fill 40-man rosters for raids, thus facilitating the game’s downfall.
No, they didn’t. That’s why Blizzard got rid of them. They were a barrier for entry for recruiting / new raiders.
“Content patch”? You mean WoD?
I’d rather go back to raid or die than have Valorstones and crests. ALL Classic players agree with that sentiment, so I already have a large army behind me on that one.
Yeah, WoD launch was a glorified content patch, much like TWW has been thus far. WoD is about the closest WoW has come to being killed, and if not for tokens, TWW might have succeeded.
Bad players paying for good ones subs and expansions via tokens might be what keeps WoW alive for the entirety of the current trilogy.
Ah… I can remember a time when one raid lasted almost a full year… We called it Siege of Orgrimmar. We called it the Fury of Hellfire… “The demon has many names and each name has held special meaning at one time or another. While the details were sometimes insignificant, the end result was always the same: stagnation.”
Also hello Ellipsis! Hope your doing well and having a good Thanksgiving season!
Raid or die means easier raids due to the demands of those now without options elsewhere. I prefer having content I can sink my teeth into and progress with my friends and peers.
I don’t see this, considering there are a billion difficulties now.
Including the revamped BRD raid which everyone went surprised pikachu im mad face because it was “over tuned”.
So no, we can see in real time they don’t care about making raids “easier”, hence BRD raid.
Greetings from across the pond. No Thanksgiving over here but advent is the beginning of the festive season and that’s not too far away now
Well regardless, I hope it’s a good one for you friend.
BRD is also a “clear once, never touch it again” raid because it’s trash with trash rewards.
Oh I don’t know. I remember a Paladin who once ran into the Rookery with his pals for life, and became a legend.
The boss fights in heroic brd are honestly great. Theres just no reason to do it and it’s too hard to knock over with alts as a loot pinata.
Ooooh, struck a nerve with the BRD raid.
Nothing can satisfy you people. You don’t deserve anything.
Well yeah, it has no bragging rights, no mounts, no usable rewards for raiders because its all trash and lower item levels/stat allocations than even m+.
The mistake they made of setting boss stats to 4x intended values was just the piss icing on the crap cake.
I did it once, it was fun. No reason to go back and groups aren’t being formed for it.
There’s a second raid right there and nobody’s doing it.
I wanna try Heroic BRD just for fun. With my guild that I raid with for fun, doing raids, FOR FUN.
Don’t care about the loot.
If nobody does the raid, it may as well not exist. In fact, it shouldn’t exist and the time spent on it would have been better spent on an onyxia style raid. One with gear that doesn’t have less base stats than the raid that came before it. One with most of its gear without versatility and a mount.
there’s just no reason to do it if you’re an actual raider. it takes time away from your nerubar palace progression, there is no heroic achievement so it’s a big waste of time.
I suspect that may have been the intention, with the revamped T2 sets being the rewards, but the devs (rightly, IMO) changed their mind and rewarded the T2 sets for trivial content.
