One positive side on plunderstorm; feedback

I´ve read the plunderstorm stuff now completely and what I liked is that there are no addons allowed and they focused on making a great UI. Can we have this approach on PvP too? Fully customizable base UI, DR-trackers, CD-trackers, movable, resizeable… etc. without tooty horns

I mean, you can choose to do that in the game if you want to.

And I have, mostly! I just want equal playing ground, thats the point.

I hope they utilize the buildings and have grappling hooks, one of the major caveats to wow pvp is its restriction to two dimensional combat.
Arathi is sort of an odd choice for this as outside of the major buildings its mostly two dimensional with minimal environmental los. I think revendreth represents the peak design for a battle royale styled map, the buildings around the castle are strategic and some even mimic arena layouts, the marsh and ash pit are fairly confined and have low/high ground. It’ll be cool to see how they develop the gamemode but I’m thinking the hotspots in arathi are going to be too few and far between.

Agreed, it’s like pulling teeth trying to get Blizzards Arena frames to go away without 3rd party addons. If Blizzard added more customization to their arena frames we wouldn’t have this problem. The need for 3rd party addons is often cited as a barrier to entry by aspiring PvP players and a disincentive by PvE players that might be PvP curious.

I’ve taken the time to compile this list of feedback and issues with the current state of PvP in an attempt to have them addressed, if anyone is interested in checking it out, I’ll leave it here.

Then pull yourself up to that equal playing ground.

How can I pull myself there? I don’t think Im in charge of addon capabilities. Believe me if I could, I would disable all addons from arena and design better stock UI.

If you’re pulling this dishonest discussion strat, we can both play this and wonder at the end of the day, why?

You can literally just disable them lmao

The only way people will not go into an uproar if addons are removed, is if Blizzard goes through every popular addon and implements a lot of the things those addons do into the base UI.

I do not see Blizzard doing that… therefore I don’t see addons going away any time soon.

People will quit the game if they can’t interface with it the way they want.

The UI is one of the most important aspects of the game.

I think others who like the idea of addonless PvP are after gameplay experience where addons don’t play for you. PvP would only need; DR-, CD- and interrupt tracking. I might’ve forgotten one more, possibly some class specific stuff proc tracking.

You wouldn’t need tmog addons inside the arena.

That’s exactly what I thought too but they often still show up in arena, could be a bug I had to use Sarena and Move anything addons to actually get rid of mine.

Use addons.

Using addons won’t help me here, but no worries, I can remind you!

I’m after equal playing field without addons! You hupsy dupsy, if I were to use addons it would spoil the idea. Sometimes it’s hard to stay on topic, but I think this reminder was sufficient enough for you to keep up.

Hey, that’s exactly what addons do!
