One main concern regarding the water strider debacle

You are thinking in the very short term. Next expansion, will the “equipment” you equipped on your mount still work at all? Will it still work but only in BfA zones?

You do not have that ability to equip anything right now, so how are you losing anything? You are GAINING choice.

You’re not following the conversation very well. I didn’t say that.

I was hoping we could have a constructive discussion about this…:expressionless:

I don’t care that you’re mad. If you think you’re the one who’s going to take my mount through the force of your personality, I’m going to make you prove it.

You’re failing, btw.

You can keep repeating this over and over, but you already contradicted it in your own words. If striders keep their water walking ability then people would CHOOSE different equipment for their other mounts.

a.
one.
singular.

do you only play one character?

I am not mad, but you sure seem to be.

  1. your mount is not being taken away.
  2. I am not doing anything to you or your mounts (that would be Blizzard).
  3. I said I like the change and you are getting worked up in a tizzy.
  4. You are not losing anything and actually gaining choice.

So again why do you feel as if this is happening on only the first character you log in as. I did not see anything about that and that is usually not how they handle this type of stuff.

I keep repeating it because it is as true after time 10 as the first time.

You currently do not have the ability to chose. You will have the ability to chose and can chose to keep it the same. You are not losing anything, you are GAINING the ability to chose.

You keep repeating it because nobody is buying your BS. No, it isn’t the same if I have to pay big gold to equip my alts same as always.

this:

if you have a Water Strider on 8.2’s launch, you will get a free [Inflatable Mount Shoots] item which lets all your mounts walk on water. In addition, if you head to the vendor where you bought a Water Strider, you’ll be able to buy more of this item for a greatly reduced price as an advantage for those who already have the Water Strider.

Even if the mount shoots are sent to every existing character level 20 and above, it’s still an added expense for any future characters which didn’t previously exist.

You’re gaining the ability to equip regular mounts with water walking. That’s not the same as having a water walking mount with no equipment slot. You are deliberately ignoring this.

NO. You’re LOSING THE ABILITY TO USE YOUR MOUNT.

Friendly fire, dude.

My apologies, I misread your post.

It doesn’t matter if you think the reasoning is rubbish. Its the reason. Buzz doesn’t want you to have access to more than one of the equip perks at a time. Having the strider has given you the advantage for almost 4 expacs now. You aren’t losing that ability, you just no longer have an advantage and just because you had an advantage in the past doesn’t entitle you to have one now.

My apologies.

That was the only reason people put the time into getting the mount. They are absolutely entitled to keeping what they earned.

I hope Blizzard keeps this response in mind when they get the bright idea to update any other systems in the game. We don’t need player housing because we would all lose our garrisons. We don’t need further class updates because we would be losing our current class design. We don’t need new zones or quests because that would mean we would lose access to older zones.

Change is bad. Innovation is a waste of time. Adding things to the game actually means taking them away. Black is white and up is down. WoW players would complain about the loss of choice about their dinner if Blizzard offered to give us all a free pizza.
