One main concern regarding the water strider debacle

How are you loosing anything over this? Right now none of your mounts have the features they are adding. So if you pick water walking you are at the exact same point as right now.

The problem was everybody and their brother who didn’t have the strider moaned and complained that they had to go back to obsolete content and grind out rep or they would be at a disadvantage. On top if that everyone who had the strider moaned and complained they had to use the ugly mount they didn’t like or they would be at a disadvantage.

So Blizz said, ok, now everyone can water walk on any mount, and hey here’s a couple other things that you can do as well.

Now everyone and their brother is moaning and complaining that they can’t game this new system and and basically have two of the perks available at the same time without spending the money to swap them out.

Blizz gave everyone what they wanted plus some and now they are throwing tantrums because they can’t have it all at once.

Okay, so explain to me how leaving the Water Strider alone like they did with the Sky Golem is going to prevent you from using the new equipment on whatever mount you’re pretending you can’t otherwise?

You can’t, and you know you can’t. You just want the Strider taken away because your ego is wrapped up in it now.

If this is true, it’s a complete waste of time. Why would they do this instead of just leaving the striders untouched and unable to equip things like the sky golem? Ridiculous.

Because it completely invalidates the reason for the system. They created the system so that anyone could water walk on whatever mount they wanted and not be forced to get the strider and use it.

If they made it so the strider could only water walk and nothing else everyone would just put the anti daze item in the slot and keep doing what they do now and pull the strider out when they need to cross water. Which is the thing they were trying to fix.

It’s not a problem as I see it, or a “debacle”. The problem here is players are unnecessarily angry that the mount is potentially changing, with a trade off that all mounts can do what it does. It’s a silly reason to be angry, and it’s not all that bad I think.

Frankly I think the 8.2 changes are a good thing.

Having something I’ve had for years taken away only to have them sell it back to me is not a silly reason to be angry.

This is rubbish. If everyone has the ability to equip their other mounts with water walking then NO ONE is forced to use the striders. People that have the striders just have a bonus, which is exactly why they put the time into getting them.

Let’s be honest here. All the ground mounts are getting an equip slot. The water walking mount you had before is now losing it’s ability to be grouped with every other mount you have.

Try and relax and reading. I will even type slowly for you. If the water strider was left with water walking it would be the exact same situation as it is now. You now have a choice for ALL mounts to have it or can pick something else if you rather not have water walking.

You are right there, that’s exactly what I did. But that doesn’t stop people from complaining, and even if it did, it only solves half the complaints.

Yes and you are getting a water walking equipment free which means all mounts have the same functionality and your water strider is the exact same as it is right now. You are GAINING choice and not losing anything.

That’s not the way it works. The equip effects all mounts. You can’t equip different mounts with different perks.

You’re completely ignoring the fact that the mount had a unique ability that is being removed. You already stated that if the mount remained the same then people would equip something else onto their other mounts.

That is not gaining choice, it’s losing it.
