On those Lay-offs

It’s crazy how so many forum users on this forum simply cannot understand this. Many of the people here live and breathe for these forums. They wake up and check them, fall asleep with their phone in their hand reading them. Some of the posters here and their reporting remind me of watching a prison movie and the overweight prison guard is all like "this is MY house!"

While true in general, I’m not convinced it was true in this particular case. QA was among the departments hit … which hasn’t exactly been an area of strength lately to begin with. They need more QA staff, not less.

I do not see that ending well.

Given the amount of bugs in nearly every aspect of BfA it’s rather clear they weren’t needed.

Well, you’re not wrong. Either they weren’t needed or they were ignored, which amounts to the same thing.

Strangely enough FF14 has not had to lay anyone off. They are hiring more people. While also opening up four new servers.

I wonder if they employ people to go on other MMO forums to shill for them.

Square Enix definitely has had some lay off type issues, though.

This topic makes no mentions of Portals or No-Flying in the March patch so I have to ignore it.

Potentially the best post by a green I have ever witnessed.

Nice work. :sunglasses:

Blizzard seems to be having issues with attracting talented developers even before the layoffs, if BFA is anything to go by.

Your a tad late to the party on this. Happened weeks ago.

I’m not a shill for FFXIV, but certainly can sound like one. Whom do I contact to see if they’ll pay me? That would be even more money to spend on fun stuff from the Mog Station. (Their store.)

I’ve been eyeing some new dances, housing items, and mounts. Still haven’t gotten my flying witch’s broom mount yet because I was trying to decide which character was going to be my main out of 2 worlds/servers. I love both my Hyur Highlander and my Au Ra Xaelen, and they both would look great flying around on it all year long. (Yes, I know it’s cheap, but I can’t buy just one thing when I get stuff from their store because I love so many of the things we can get for our characters.) (Edited too many times for clarity cos I’m way past my bedtime.)

A simple test of a company - is to ask how enthusiastically employees would recommend it to their friends.

Do we feel that Blizzard employees are more likely to recommend Blizzard to their friends than a year ago? … or less?

I guess we should ask them. Rather than make up assumptions and use them as fact.

I thought I was pretty clear about how I was posing a question, not an answer.

I’m not sure how much clearer I could have been on that.

I guess considering its a loaded question that is intended to only give one specific answer that we can only speculate on…which then I am supposed to blindly accept.

:man_shrugging:

I mean, from Ythisens initial comments sounded like even he would still recommend Blizzard. And I know how he has been the banner cry here on the forums.

No, it’s not a loaded question. It’s a question.

Loaded questions require a load to them, to weight them a direction.

Mine has none. So I have no idea what your purpose is here right now.

Its loaded because the only thing you want us to consider are the lay offs, which would influence the answer.

We are not privy to 99% of what goes on at Blizzard. So we can’t have any real speculation on how an employee feels about recommending the company to anyways.

It could be good. it could be bad. Neither side can possibly know.

But if we ask this specific question in a thread about the lay offs, where we are supposed to look at the layoffs as the only thing that matters.

:man_shrugging:

Loaded question.

Nope, there’s no mention of layoffs in my post. That’s just projection.

Sorry, but there was just no weight or loading to my question.

There’s only the weight from people viewing it.
