On target flamestrike fire mage

Blizzard can we please stop with the placement AOE abilities. Flamestrike is a perfect example of AOE ability that should be moved to on target. The fast paced gameplay of fire mage makes it feel so awkward and you are require to macro the ability and keep the camera a certain way to use it optimally. You made this change with shadow priest and Ele shaman. It’s time for all of the placement AOEs to ge this treatment.

I agree, but it does not need to be all placement AOEs just AOE spells where there is minimal to no skill expression in the placement. Something like flame strike, meteor, blizzard, raid of fire… 99.9999% of the time is going dead on the enemy and having them as at cursor AOE casts just makes for clunky gameplay. Even if you are kiting mobs in M+ the answer is still put the AOE on them since mobs are typically slowed enough w/ kits now a days that the damage will still 100% go through especially on something like flame strike.

Cursor spells should be reserved for when placement matter and the answer is not just dead on your enemy like Ring of frost, Ring of Peace, Power word barrier, ice wall…

Just allow us to do
@target
@player
Macros for these abilities.

So weird to not let us have this option. Would hump a developer’s leg to have this for meteor in PvP.

Or this! Tbh it’s kind of wild that we are still not able to do this. And the macros already exist as you can make “on player” macros

TBH this would help considering how many you have to throw out but pretty much everyone uses a at cursor macro for flamestrike atm.

You have to. But I use my mouse to turn the camera and it feels so awkward to try and keep the cursor where I need and also move/ move camera if I need to abruptly move. I just feel like it could be so much better

It feels terrible for sure, I’ve been checking out priest and ele and both feel much better. Even though I kinda hate ground based aoe when a tank decides to just walk right out of it with all 10 mobs.
