Oh this is crazy good news I am excited! I’m an evoker main. So many players have no idea just how fun the class is because the dracthyr model is an immediate turn off. We will have w more Evokers when this goes live.

This will just be obnoxious and stupid. If y’all can’t handle being a Drac… just don’t play a Drac. Now we have to watch people popping in and out of that while in the middle of raid fights.

Idk how are they now, I doubt they’re any fun after pruning but DF Preservation was so fun I played it a bit even if I hated how it looks

Curious to see what abilities they consider would require the dragon forms over not.
Like I would imagine Charge would make sense as you turn into a dragon to rush the target before turning back.
Honestly constantly staying in form all of the time somewhat killed it for me. I really like the customization of the visage form over the actual dragon form. If dragon form had armor that actually covered the whole body then I’d be more inclined to like it more.
My Drac has been on the backburner since the prepatch before dragonflight. When I found out they could be other classes now I am tempted to race change one of my existing characters to Drac now that this feature has been announced.

This is my concern. Like I really don’t want to be flashing back and forth every time I press Azure Strike.

I’d imagine Azure Strike is one of those abilities that are like…yes…Dragon.
I honestly think most of Evoker will just be dragon forming back and forth.
This is probably mostly for the non-evoker Dracthyr classes…unless they already didn’t change back and forth and I just didn’t know.
Eh, I got no bone in this fight but Evokers gonna be morphing in and out of their forms for like all of their skills?

This is an obvious case of “engagement numbers for this class are nowhere near where Blizz wants them to be, and the overwhelming reason is that DT look like geckos”.

Non evokers have the option to be in their dracthyr or visage forms at all times for every spell.
So this was just a change for Evoker. I hope they relax what is considered a dragon spell, but I know that they’d have to change animations or use weird ones if that’s the case, so I’m expecting swirling twirling visage magic all the time in combat because that’s easier.

They’re definitely just going to cite this as the reason they don’t bother fixing the lack of transmog, “Oh you can just use Battle Visage to see your cool outfit!” and dust their hands of anything else needing to be done. Very disappointing.

Ah thanks for clearing that up.
Ironically, only “20” people play evoker because of the dragon model. I think more people will try the class and realize how fun it is after this change.
