If rets are truly that strong, RMP would not have been such a dominant comp for DECADES now. The last time a Ret won AWC was… i think around 2019 or 2020? That’s 5+ years…
Utility that can be dispelled for almost all of them, is not as strong as what others like to say. A good priest would have and always will have a mass dispel prepped for you the moment your DS is on, no blue way in hell would they even allow 1 sec of immunity becuz at that point if it’s not clear why u needed to press DS, that’s becuz you are the kill target. Forbearance also means even if the DS does last the entire duration, the next 30 secs you have nothing to protect yourself.
Pressuring a paladin to use their most powerful defensive has been a proven strag throughout WoW’s life. Having the ability to use DS through forbearance this expansion means nth when comps like Turbo will just chomp down on you due to mortal strike/hamstring anyway.
With Radiant Glory being the play, we have more wings up time but wings also last lesser then the typical 20 secs, which means IF we cannot burn and kill the target within that 10 secs, you had been sure to start running.
I can WoA, activate my starting combo and deal that ‘‘chuck of OP dmg’’ and all it takes for that priest or whatever healer actually, to reverse everything that i do is just 1-2 heals + a personal on that target that i am on.
