This is actually one of the best posts I’ve seen you make. Not even to troll or anything. You came down to the fence and talked over it as any good neighbor does.

I troll and others troll, and sometimes everyone’s feelings get muddied up. But I’m very proud of you. It also clears up many misconceptions from my viewpoint.

I mean, as many differences as many of us have, in the end we all want the same thing.

Classic to succeed. That’s why we’re all here. I think it will. Even if they add a thing or two here or there while remaining true to the essence of Vanilla.

Private servers aren’t going to disappear. They’ve existed since Vanilla was current, and they will continue on after WoW is no longer online. As hard as Blizzard may try, they will never be able to wipe out all private servers.

Hell, my viewpoint has even changed since the announcement. Originally, I was full on for balancing the classes, but after playing the demo as a druid, and using my entire toolkit the way I hadn’t been able (or required) to in ages, the people here changed my mind, and I don’t want them to mess around with the balancing. I think going with 16 debuffs will help those specs that are less desirable for raiding get groups more regularly. On top of the fact that I bet most guilds raiding 40-mans will simply be looking for warm bodies to fill the raid spots.

Really, I can be very personable (I am in-game when I played WoW and am in FFXIV now), but when I’m constantly attacked by some certain posters simply because of my viewpoint… Well, I’m not going to just sit back and let it happen. :slight_smile:

In the end, we’re all on the same side.

I agree. It’s hard to know exactly what Blizzard will do, even with promises and assurances. We all just have to hope for the best. As skeptical as I am of certain things, I really do still have a lot of faith and optimism. There are also things I won’t miss from private servers, such as the latency, the disconnects, the roll-backs, and not being able to communicate with the foreign players.

On a personal level, I want those juicy bugs and glitches and slow progressive patches, among others, but we can simply agree to disagree on topics and not bring the heat and rage.

To be fair, there are still some guilds clearing MC/BWL on private servers with 3-4 spots still needing people.
