Blizzard has, over the years, “baked in” the functionality of many add-ons.
IMO, not all of what they “baked in” was good for the game, though.
Modern WoW does not need to become a ghost town for Classic to get an expansion…
The only thing that needs to happen is Classic WoW would need a reasonably audience to justify building an expansion for the simple fact that Activsion would want to keep these people playing because its paying the bills.
This is not complicated stuff.
Especially when you factor in that the majority of the Classic WoW players such as my self do not enjoy Modern WoW not because of its content, but because it departed from classic far too much to even be considered a related game.
And nobody can ever really prove that since oQueue existed pre-dungeon finder, but cross-realm is notoriously known for when people stopped caring about how to behave.
