Don’t beat up on yourself too much. We all do silly things sometimes. Especially if we’re tired.
Heck, one time I was driving home worn out after a shift, I waited about a minute for a stop sign to change.

I guess I’m a little surprised no one so far in the topic had mentioned the possibility. (I just started looking; otherwise, I would have mentioned it.)
With this mount, you have to either collect all the keystones in your bags, so that you have a visible reminder of your progress, or save bag space by turning each key in as you get it and risk forgetting what steps you’ve already completed.

Yup. It’s the scenario that I hadn’t thought of. Even my guild mates were baffled.
It’s super funny, now looking back at it.
I must have sounded like a lunatic. Lol
It was mentioned but Guthild said they checked. Since I don’t use addons for tracking it never occurred to me or others that the addon could be messing things up.

Yeah.
I almost did this myself, since I was in the “save bag space” party, but I managed to keep a mental completion checklist* so didn’t fall prey to forgetting and redoing stuff.
*The checklist really boiled down to focusing on just one keystone type at a time; the relief of “finally, I don’t have to farm this anymore” was enough to make it stick even given my borderline Swiss cheese memory. Also, “finally, I don’t have to farm this anymore” is a pretty stark critique of Blizzard’s content design. I still wonder why I enjoy a game when the best moments are when I’m done with it?

I don’t think it was mentioned to check if completed, but I could have missed it in my rage as I was fishing. It happens.
So, moral of this situation…look everywhere… including the kitchen sink, to make sure that you have completed any part of the requirements.

I’ve done all three, and it was Alunira that finally started to frustrate me. I went on a nine hour stretch trying to get my fourth shard, only yo have it drop within ten minutes the following day.
I was just looking for things to do, so I decided to do the grinds.

That’s fair. I have 5/10 shards for Alunira and I’m 2/3 the way through the first quest for Siesbarg.
I’m really dreading finishing Siesbarg tho.

Farm the Nerubians in Isle of Dorn near the Meadery and the bee/wolf farm spot to double dip the chitin/venom and shards.
For the last bit of the Siesbarg quest, I did Ara Kara as a follower dungeon for the bloods. You can get it in less than ten runs if you do all the trash every run.
