Ok I’m stumped

So my wife’s computer keeps shutting off every time she starts playing wow. I’ve updated everything for her. Uninstalled and reinstalled wow. Turned off all addons I just don’t know what to do now.

Also it isn’t the power supply or over heating. The same machine runs ffxiv just fine. Like myself she would rather play wow. Please help.

Post a dxdiag. We can’t do any troubleshooting without one.

Hi Bamma

This sure has the looks of a power supply or temperature issue. Wow is one of the better stress tests you can find. Let’s double check those things.

Download HWMonitor here:

Free download is along the left side of page - called “Setup - English”

Open it on desktop - go play for a few minutes fight some mobs then tab out. Take a screenshot of the tool. Scroll down on tool to get the rest of the outputs then take another screenshot.

Upload those to Imgur or a similar site. I use http://postimages.org/

(Remove the beginning of the URL link to post on the forum - the http portion should work - or paste the link in chatbox then highlight it - click the preformatted text button along top of chat box - looks like this </>)

Play as long as you dare - even a minute should give us some idea

I just figured it out she needed a new graphics card thank you.

Ahh - good to see you figured it. Did you swap cards.

Yeah I bought her a new one. The old one worked but was going up and couldn’t handle wow so it was causing the system to crash.
