Okay so, The Battle of the Bridge.
Everybody’s Here! And doing cool things and fighting the bad guys is fine as a story beat!
But!
The execution of how it’s written with the quippy one-liners and each character showing up for their own zinger reminds me exactly of how the Emerald Dream ended it and the cringe is PAINFUL.
Who is writing these fight scenes lol.

Man did it make me physically cringe when Arator shouted “Elves of Azeroth!“
But the cherry on top had to be the “All you did was unite us“ while looking all smug.
This is the pinnacle of Blizzard writing and it’s pathetic. I can imagine the writers snorting themselves while they wrote this, as if it was an absolute spirit bomb of a moment and then reading out loud in their disgusting office. “We united the elves of azeroth and defeat the evil!“ Before falling into a coughing fit from the self-adulation. I almost pity them.

Araator: Me and my friends can put you to bed.

I just don’t know if they actually think this is good or if they just want to get it over with and take their paycheck lol. I don’t know what’s going onnnnnn.
How is this such an expensive, impressive, pretty game but the writing is like this.
Is there just no writing budget?
This cutscene could’ve been a banger if they just made one change. Don’t have Arator be the center of it. Put Lor’themar in the front.
Mate, I have 0 doubts they thought it was some of the best writing in recent history. You can’t write stuff like that with any degree of self-awareness
And no one-liners! Even if it is him instead of arator.
Lorthemar went through a lot and he’s kinda old, he earned some one-liners, cmon now.
Do the writers need help? Do we need to crowdfund a paycheck for them? Is that what’s going on? Somebody please make it make sense lol.
I disagree. They didn’t throw every named character they could think of into the cutscene like they did in Dragonflight so it’s less Avengers end game and more “culmination of the story so far”.
Outside of the Nelves, none of the people that showed up felt out of place to me.

It wasn’t that bad this time, but Lor’themar deserved better. He should’ve been leading the charge instead of Arator and definitely needed a spot in that ending cinematic.
I’m talking about the quips and the one-liners not the fact that characters in the current story showed up. But yes the night elves being here at all is ridiculous.
Why in the fresh hell is Lor’themar taking a backseat to Arator?
Lor’themar should be the one leading the charge as the leader whose city is under attack, but the writers can’t afford to rob their precious Arator of the spotlight for even a moment.
Instead of endearing me to Arator, it makes me hate him even more.
It is absolutely crazy that he is making major political and tactical decisions consistently instead of lorthemar.
That’s always been warcraft though.
The Wrathgate cutscene had Dranosh, Bolvar, and Putress doing the same thing.
Again it’s not about the thing that is happening but the craft of the writing lol.
And no, “everybody’s here to deliver their one-liner” was not how the game has always been for fight scenes. That is a recent development.
