I don’t get why people are mad? Don’t play it if you don’t enjoy it. I thought Plunderstorm was really fun the first time around and I’m happy to see it coming back. Hopefully they bring back Remix too!

Blizzard knows this cringe meme mode would be DoA without the old (AND NEW) rewards tied to it.
I dared many here that said they loooved plunderstorm … that blizzsrd wouldnt add it back without rewards and here we are now. I have to waste time queuing this meme trash mode to get rewards in the real game.

I don’t care about abilities going into the storm. They’re largely surplus and stopping the specific individual who killed you getting loot is a welcome part of battle royale gameplay and present in many other games.
What I dislike is the impact losing the xp has on the “food chain” of levels in plunderstorm that contributes to the imbalance. I don’t think a BR needs levels, I think this is the reason most popular BRs don’t, but if they’re keeping levels they need a solution.
One suggestion I made is that periodically, towards the mid game, waves of ghost pirate mobs spawn which contain the total xp lost to the storm just to keep it on the map for late game.

Everything has a carrot to entice people to play. The issue with FOMO is that people are unable to cope with not having something or not being a part of something. That is not the developers problem, that is a personal problem that people need to work on. Working on it does not mean demanding rewards from or not wanting rewards in content you do not like.

Same, skipped it, but do agree.
It clears out the pug pool numbers wise but absolutely improves it from a patience, conflict, and skill perspective. Great thing imo. The CoD and Fortnite types just flock to it.

Its like getting pissed because brutosaur is available but I have to pay for it, the game will be completely FINE if I dont have it.
As well as rewards out of new Plunderstorm, they have ZERO effect in normal game play.
People just cant handle FOMO on anything.
This is true but don’t push your mental health issues around FOMO on me. When you do it becomes my business because it effects how I like the play the game so the knife cuts both ways.

Just wondering. Are there any other rewards from content types you don’t enjoy / engage with that you complain about having to engage with to get?
Especially if your complaints focus on removal of the game mode entirely because you don’t enjoy it.

I just didn’t see the appeal personally, I don’t like PvP as it stands, and even then the rewards were just overall meh to me. I get the FOMO aspect they tried to angle, but given how PvP is in this game, it was something I happily missed out on.

Or they could do something so people who are bad at PvP for the simple and single reason that they have a hard time getting behind people and everyone has an easy time getting behind them, get something to make up for this so we actually have a reason to try to win too.
As someone for whom this was pure work and never had any hope of winning, I totally agree. However I am glad I have the Tidestallion at least.
I always suggest truly optional in this way for mission tables. No achievements, no gold, just a totally self-contained system where I gear up my followers and if there are any cosmetic rewards like pets and mounts, they should be BoE. This way people who like mission tables (like me) can have them without affecting anyone else.

Nah if you wanna run into the storm by my guest, take your items with you too if you want. But have the xp get put but back on the map so it doesn’t cause level imbalances later in the game.
