Oh look, a PVP event

Some of us are horrendous because we don’t feel like we’d enjoy putting in the time to get good!

Solo players will get grouped with other solo folks. There are no teams. [1]

The first little bit you’ll be running around doing PvE stuff as you “powerup”. Or not.

I’m going to check it out for the pet. Maybe the mount. Anything else… We’ll see.

Not going to get to bent about this one way or the other.

So put me into the - Hmm, this is interesting, let’s see what happens camp.

[1] Well except for the people that will be gaming the system by searching for exploits… Pox on them!

You are quite correct.

I will be going in there, finding out what is the absolute minimum I need to do (hopefully just immediately dying) to progress this track bar and AFK if I can’t leave the match immediately.

I mean, it’s nice that they’re adding a little pvp content, even if it’s temporary.

I gave up on pvp a midway through WoD. WoW’s implementation is really bad. If I wanted to run capture the flag over and over, I’d just play a shooter. And the arenas are even sillier.

I want real world pvp with goals and targets–not just some random person corpse camping anyone silly enough to fly into the nearby flight point.

Yeah this would be why you don’t find it challenging. It would be like stopping arena at like 1200 rating.

pvp has been a core of wow from the start, its just a casual version of pvp compaired to other mmos at the time. the biggest problem wow pvp ever had was when pvp gear became something big name raid guilds started chasing for Tanks. any time the big guilds have to farm content that isnt dungeons or raids you tend to see changes get made real fast and not always in a way that benefits people who do that content.

as for arenas i think they cause the same problem for pvp that race for worls first causes for mythic raiding, it turns it into an esport and esports and mmos dont really fit well since you have to balance everything around an extremly small group of very good players in a game that is filled with average players.

Yeah, I am in the same boat. No pun intended. Was that even pun? Man, my memory is going. Anyway, PvP makes me super nervous, and I do have pride when it comes to that too. Really sucks.

:cat: :cat2: :cat:

all i wanna know is whether i can run it in the bg/on a 2nd monitor while i play my main character! i’m not gonna pay attention for 160(ish) games to grind out the rep, i just wanna afk through it while paying attention to other things! if i can do that it’s fine.

If the challenge is discerning and reacting accordingly to the 5+ core threats on your screen amidst a mishmash of poorly articulated particles, pets, bars, and ground effects while getting chain cc’d and eaten alive by demon hunters… I’d call that more of a chore than a challenge.

PvP is the only area of the game where I’d consider the popular buzzword “bloat” to be a significant detriment to the overall experience. Cognitive tax is way too high in PvP, especially in arenas, to be appealing to much more than a fringe masochistic section of the playerbase. Yes, I’m bad at arenas.

If I want to play a PvP mmo, I hit up guild wars 2. It’s easy to tell what’s going on at a glance rather than trying to fight the UI like it’s an aggressive alphabet of heiroglyphs.

I certainly hope so, we’re like that car that doesn’t move on that guys property up the street from your house… you know the car.

tbh mechanic bloat and everything everywhere on the screen is how exactly i feel about mythic raiding. But the 5 abilities on a hot bar at a given time is pretty much the biggest reason i haven’t gave guild wars 2 a real chance.

Instead of wasting time trying to be Fortnite they could have given us a real S4…

It’s not even conventional PVP.

Everyone saying “I’m bad at PVP, I’m passing” before even attempting to try it is hilarious to me.

It’s not the same PVP you know. Trying it before putting it down won’t hurt you. :3

We ARE getting a real season 4?

Dragonflight story concluded, we’re not going to get new dungeon/raid content until next expansion. Instead of sitting here twiddling our thumbs, we get fated raids and the original DF dungeons back - dungeons that we haven’t done btw since the start of the expansion, so lets not act like we’re sick of them when it’s been at least a year and a half since you’ve done some of them.

Yeah. I wish I liked games like Fortnite. They look fun, and this looks fun, but PvP always winds up not being fun for me. Still, I’ll do it for the rewards. Sounds like every match starts with some PvE that progresses renown. In the end though, every match ends with PvPers getting the most reward. Ah well.

lot of crying for a mode we literally cant play yet till the servers up.

I am probably the worst PvP player in the game. Free farm. I would rather go to the dentist than do any PvP content but by god am I going to bash my face into my keyboard for that drip they showcased.

Wish folks give it a chance. Keep an open mind about.

Listen, you won’t hear me disagree that world first chasers and extreme cutting edge raiders ruin many experiences.

I don’t think they do it on purpose, mind, but Blizzard does have a history of bowing to the esport side of things at the expense of the RPG experience.

Rest in peace, enchants on multiple pieces of gear

Fun fact: PvP wasn’t added to WoW until late in the beta testing. They weren’t even going to add PvP servers at first. You are wrong.
