This is an easy win for blizzard. Give Forsaken and Void Elves access to the paladin class, only change the aesthetic to be all purply instead of glowy like the light. They’d literally only have to change the name of a few spells and the colors of some abilities, and it would be super satisfying.
Interesting idea.
I agree.
But give it 1 extra mobility spell so we could see the Paladins writhe and scream on the forums for eternity.
That’s not really a paladin though. A void melee would be better off as a completely new class. Since nothing about them is what a paladin is.
That’d be like giving mages warlock felfire aesthetics and still calling them mages.
did void elves make sense to you?
did no kultiran paladins make sense to you?
because they are? what do you think felfire is? it’s only differentiated because of game mechanics as two classes Mage and Warlock
it’s fel MAGIC
I read what you wrote and initially thought “anti paladins” but isn’t that what Death Knights are?
If Blizz is to expend effort on a new class I would prefer to see a completely new class and not a recolor of an existing class.
I don’t know why you think it has to be one or the other.
yes they are all mages/magicians using different forms of magic, they differentiate using technical terms like warlocks, priests, mages
I don’t think you understand the concept of a “spell” it’s basically magic no matter however fancy you think it is
does not apply to melee punching or weapons which are not magically enchanted
Yes to class skins. Just change some spell effects and you can vastly expand on the aesthetic choices available to players without mucking around further with balance issues.
We still need Tinkers tho
I honestly have no idea what you are on about. It is simply a way to let new flavor into the game. Just like they did with allied races.
It’s differentiated in lore too and they’re completely different classes because of it. Warlocks and mages have nothing in common besides being magic casters. Their type of magic and styles set them apart.
That’s why you can’t just give each other different aesthetics. Mages do not use fel, just as paladins don’t use void. If they do they stop becoming what they were and class change.
you’re being silly because people are asking how would this “make sense” a.k.a they are not just talking about gameplay they are also talking about lore
they’re just casters of spells using different schools of magic that’s all in terms of lore
In gameplay it is. Just with different lore. Most of the paladin races have different lore.
It’s not like the void can’t heal or anything. We literally already have an ability called shadow mend. The basis for it is already present.
what asana does not realize is that blizzard can shoehorn in anything they want, look at kultiran paladins (lol they don’t exist) and zandalari paladins
There is already an active thread on this, and no, let’s not ruin paladins for your idea.
Yeah, they literally pulled void elves out of no where, just because they were sick of alliance players upset about not having high elves.
So, if the game is going to be governed by the rule of cool, why not do something cool!
Yes and they all get their light power from a light source. They are still all warriors of the light hence paladins.
She is right, a void melee fighter won’t ever be a paladin.
As far as I can recall, the void itself does not like to heal, so a shadow priest that uses that spell is forcing the void to go against it’s will. And that’s the thing about void, it’s always constantly vying for control over you. The void most attacks the mind, tries to mutate things/currupt or consume. The opposite of the light which seeks to heal, guide and empower, with only a few cases of it bringing others to zealotry.
