Emphasis on the word âscammersâ. These are people with a history, not someone with an easily verifiable action like âdid you or didnât you release the nameâ.
Blizzard support has neither the time nor the inclination to action something like this. They target widespread activities, not one offs.

I donât think you understand what youâre reading.
Bottom line: if you make an agreement, whether supported or not, Blizzard will action the side that doesnât hold up their end of the bargain. Give gold to someone for a name and you donât get the name? Ticket to Blizz will get that person nuked. Thatâs why itâs risky for both sides.
You may need a Rhielitychek on thisâŠ
Yes, I agree you do considering you think someone has to have a prior history of scamming before they can be reported for a scam ![]()
Maybe youâre just new around here? There are bots and scammers all over the place. Blizzard saves up all the reports and then takes action on those over some arbitrary limit. Even if they were to bother with something like this, at most youâd be looking at a 3 day suspension. I donât see even that happening.
No?
Maybe itâs you who are ânew around hereâ since youâre equating reports with scam tickets. Good heavens.

If someone wants something from you, get the gold first. Easy.
Instead of paying gold to take your name they can just put an accent over one of the letters. Same name but pronounced with a fancy accent.
Yea I was offered two months of sub plus the guy was gonna pay the service for me so I could give him the name of my dh alt that I barely played. Everything went through and he was shocked to find out he couldnt use the name of my alt as it was locked for 90 days. After 90 days he finally got it.
It hinges more on the owner of the name over the buyerr because I could have remade another toon with my name and would have been fine and buyer loses. But I am not a scammer.
Oh and he didnt give me the two months of gsmetime⊠but I never believed he would do that anyways.
Iâd keep the name. Those are hard to think up! Lol
I was saddened to learn my favorite name: xxgÇĂłbĂšrxx was taken in SoD, so I settled for Saan.
Iâm waiting to see how serious the RP is on Choas Bolt

I know they have ritahayworth, but thatâs on a very low pop server so itâs surprising if thatâs the one someone else wanted.
If anyone has Levi on area 52, hit me up, Iâll pay.
It was probably my post and I wouldnât do it simply because you dont know where the gold came from if its a large amount, plus too many things that can go wrong and I wouldnât sell my char name to begin with. Just rock your legacy name.
I mean. I got some pretty epic names. But on quite the low pop server. (not quite dead though!)
Just check my guild. x3 Which is⊠95% me. XD
Not going to change one of my top 20 names, but if i see mail pending on an alt and someone wants the alts name, i would most likely sell it for 10K to 100K.
Yeah, i think you need to name change, then put the name on a level 1 alt and then delete the level 1 toon. Iâm fairly sure anything over level 10 needs a 90 day wait, in case you change your mind, but a one toons donât have a waiting period. Not possitive it would work though.
