Odd question here for upgrading a processor

was just going to type this myself

Have you tried seeing what is causing your crashes? Try this and maybe it’ll help.

If the CPU is bad then try warranty with AMD. Also I read there’s issues with some Seasonic focus gold made prior to Jan 2018 and they shut off on you with power hungry video cards.

https://imgur.com/nzroXyH here’s the crash event log… Also I would get a 5600x if it was in stock ever.

I’ve also contacted AMD, but unfortunately since I damaged the processor by losing a pin. They can’t accept it… Is there a way around this somehow?

Perhaps another excuse or such would get them to accept it and hopefully replace it.

Other then that update the mobo bios as someone suggested and maybe it’ll work.

As for a 5000 series cpu, there’s ppl doing twitch/YouTube stock checkers you can follow them. They alert you so just be logged into Newegg/Amazon etc and maybe get lucky. Same for video cards.

Ok so I’m currently trying to update the bios for the b550m bazooka motherboard but when I restart and enter the bio’s settings and hit m-flash I get to the usb directory and I can’t select an option to update, however, I see the file. The only options it gives me is to exit and when it first opens it just pops up with the same message I get if I exit (restart and return to setup or something), I don’t think it updated?
This is the USB stick I’m using https://www.staples.ca/products/2625539-en-kingston-datatraveler-50-usb-31-flash-drive-32-gb-kc-u1n32-2v

And I followed the steps in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1SDia6R2Jk

Should I just hit the flash button?

I feel like people who say this are people who dont actually look. They are in stock ALL THE TIME. 5600x and 5800x are the easiest to get.

Hell antonline has the 5800x in stock now.

I have gotten both a 5800x and 5900x.

Bookmark this page and keep an eye out on all the sites listed for the 5600x.

B&H literally had it in stock ALL day yesterday.

There are also these too. Look the 5600x dropped today on Amazon! It drops daily man

I would get the one below the beta version. I did my x570 gaming plus from the bios menu with a usb stick.

Could try a different usb stick but if see’s the file then it should be able to open it.

I’m finding this to be confusing, I can’t seem to get it to install… In the link you sent me I’m trying to find the version/model # etc, but can’t find it and the terms are not connecting with my brain like “AMI UEFI”. I think I’m close to giving up. That USB stick I have is the only thing I have that I can use to update it.

EDIT: I think I found the issue and it’s currently updating to the version below the beta version as suggested. I guess you’re not suppose to rename the file if you’re updating through m-flash.

Now I just need to see if it crashes, and if i even need a new cpu but it will be ready for a 5600x if i decide to get one!! Thx everyone for the help and suggestions.

I would say that unless it’s a major national retailer (think more Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg, and less antonline) it would count as being difficult to find.

Been shopping online for a long time, and personally never heard of antonline.
