‘Brain farts’ happen, though I never knew they could be ‘deliberate steps’. Why would you knowingly make Oceanic player game experiences worse by raising the network latency between those player’s hosts and the PvP realms? Wow. It’s almost as if the US Blizzard staff making these changes are oblivious to latency issues because its always been great for them the past two decades. The fact that Blizzard staff will play on paid servers and compete in those same arenas and BGs is also not lost on me. This is not a cool outcome or look Blizzard, there is no walking away from the fact that this unnecessary decision discriminates against players not based in the United States.
Glad this thread is still going, keep fighting until they realize the mistake they made, on every platform, not just here.

yeah if this change isnt reverted then im not resubbing.
better queue times? alliance is quick, if horde are suffering then give free faction changes to balance them out like you used to run.
better arena matchmaking? what planet is being put into a game with 200ms better?
and i paid for a boost… what a waste…
This really destroys PVP in this game for me. And the pvp community.
I HATED horde on my server. Absolutely hated them. After phase 2, all the camping instance portals and purging buffs and ganking and unfair gameplay they engaged in, I hated them. Any time you ever got one over them they’d cry for help instantly and just get more horde.
Finally after two years of this garbage behavior from OCE horde TBC was coming and instead of hiding in their premades they’d have to fight us 2v2. Not 3v2, 5v2, 10v2. They’d have to fight 2v2 etc and finally be exposed as the pvp failures they are once and for all. But not anymore thanks to Blizzard.
Even if I was willing to wheelchair myself through a season of 300ms Arenas, with the battlegroups merged I’d probably rarely or never encounter any or many of the OCE horde I’ve waited so long to humiliate and crush in arenas.
This change has entirely killed TBC for me and I just don’t want to play anymore if it stays like this.
Get your refunds boys!

just got this back for my refund request
Hi
This is GM name redacted assisting you today. I have got your issue and understand that you are reaching for the refund of Burning Crusade Classic Deluxe Edition
After checking, we are not able to refund this order for you.
I understand that it is not the answer you are looking for, but since all digital sales are considered final with exceptional review, which means, refund may not always be available.
This change was made by the developers with the expectation of the following
- Better PvP queue times for players on Oceanic realms.
- Better Arena matchmaking for Oceanic players.
- A much higher likelihood of Oceanic players being able to meaningfully compete.
I am sorry for how this news makes you feel. I understand that this news is abrupt and may not be a positive change to you before you purchase with the Deluxe Edition.
Thank you for contacting us and let us know this issue.
The forum is a place where our developers will always check into and see if there is any place for improvements on the game, thus I would encourage you to make your voice there.
As for the legal comment, please check with FAQs for more information
Greetings Redacted,
My name is Martin aka Game Master Gwensiya of the German Team! I hope that your day has been pleasant, besides the challenge you encountered.
You requested a removal of game time in World of Warcraft.
The customer support does not remove game time on request. You will have to wait for the 5 days to let the game time run out.
If you are not logging in, the game time should not make a difference though.
Have a nice day.
This has to be a joke, it’s been 24 hours and it still isn’t fixed. Not even Activision can ruin TBC like this, right? R-right?
I hope they consulted the legal team because I would be straight on the phone with my lawyer for a much bigger compensation check!
US East is the one you need to tracert since most NA players play on US East servers (Faerlina, etc)
Whilst playing the beta which was US East I could never get less than 200ms
id rather watch GoT season 8 on repeat at 0.5x speed than play this trainwreck of a change and thats saying something
Valve tried those excuses and got sued by the ACCC, be persistent and link them to https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees/repair-replace-refund
if needed. Blizzard can try hide behind their FAQs but Australian consumer protection law trumps anything they say.
Remember:
Signs stating ‘No refunds’ or ‘No refunds or exchanges on sale items’ are unlawful, as they imply that it’s not possible to get a refund under any circumstances, including for faulty items. In fact your consumer guarantee rights still apply.
I wrote in the specific sections of the act, they didn’t seem to care
This has been posted above to be used as a template. The response they have given you is against the law.
Hello
I’d like a refund on my recent purchase(s) that was sold to me on misleading circumstances. At the time of purchase TBC PvP was to be playable on Oceanic servers. This is no longer the case, and as such the circumstances surrounding the purchase have greatly differed.
Changing the circumstances upon which are product is offered is a substantial variance for the contract, and one that if was known, the contract would not have been created. A contract that is varied significantly in circumstances and from the original intention is not considered valid and is voidable by either party. The significant changing of a product is also a breach of Australian Consumer Law, The Competition and Consumer Act 2011 (Cth)(“the Act”) s54 for acceptable quality, s55 for fitness for purpose, s56 for matching of description The product is not fit for purpose due to significant changes that were not pre-empted at the time of purchase, nor would any reasonable party have pre-empted these changes. The product was not what was intended to be purchased and due to misleading conduct conducted by Blizzard, was purchased. The product was sold under the pretence of playing on regional servers but has ultimately changed and moved away from the original description of the product. Knowing what is known now, I would not purchase the product.
Under s60 of the Act, consumers are also guaranteed that services will be provided for a particular purpose, by changing the service and making TBC PvP playable on Oceanic servers, this service is no longer being provided at what any reasonable by-stander would consider congruent with the original intention of any reasonable purchaser and is therefore considered a breach of s60.
Furthermore, Blizzard’s actions are considered misleading and deceptive conduct due to inducing players to purchase a product that they were going to significantly change. Blizzard’s actions were timed in a manner to induce purchasing of a product that would ultimately be changed significantly. This behaviour is against s16 of the Act and can attract Civil penalties. Had I known of the changes Blizzard had always intended on making but chose to not disclose, I would not have made the purchases I had made.
Notably, Blizzard’s Terms of Service that all purchases are final is not legally binding and void in Australia under s64 of the Act. All purchases made in Australia are done in the jurisdiction of Australia, and therefore Australian consumer law will have legal precedence over any conflicting provisions in the Blizzard Terms of Service.
I request you please refund my purchase(s). Please note due to this being considered a major defect I am entitled to a refund in Australian Dollars, I will not accept Blizzard store credit.
Thank You
