I just didnt know that I had to logign with my main first, I was too excited that I get in right away with my alter and I just didnt get the echoes, and now Im so angry and dessapointed

Can confirm, they’ve screwed over people who did the essence grind on role limited classes. I cannot purchase Sphere of Suppression on my tank alt, even though I did the Blood of the Enemy grind on my Main (who doesn’t have a tank role). Even though that essence requires NO extra effort to unlock it for the other roles if your character has them.

My sub runs out in 9 days. Was excited to come back and reroll an alt now that most of us are stuck inside. But after my alt just got scammed out of 500ish essence due to Blizz negligence, no shot I’m renewing my sub.

Good luck ever getting them to admit this.
Blizz, would have been nice to know about logging onto a main prior to opening the mythic cashe for alts. Now I am out 200+ Echoes. Then you put out a notice AFTER saying you are not going to give echoes for cashes already opened. Not cool.

Yeah it sure would have been. However they did add a very “convenient” link under the In-Game HELP section to inform us of this requirement.
The one time I log into my alt first (because I had been logged in to her last) and I get screwed because of it.
The “log into your main first” should have been at the top of any announcement they made about it before the patch today. Not an hour after server reset.
And someone else brought up a good point. We’re unlocking a currency, not an essence. Why should logging into our mains first be a requirement?

Don’t really get why they’re so hopped up on pandering to the character rather then the player…
Characters are just different tool sets effectively. They’d have a lot more players stick around if they could more easily switch these out when they’re interested in trying something different.
And the benthic system was extremely good, and made me hopeful that they’d finally figured out a sensible way to equip and outfit alts that wasn’t just giving gear. You worked it up on your main equipped your Alt. Same thing for essences would be ideal.

YES. I do not get it either!!! I do not get why they do what they do. The systems in place during the games peak was NOTHING like they do now and yet they keep doing these things that pigeon hole the player into playing the way they want, not the way we want. I do not understand anymore and I am not going to try to.

So in other words you now have to grind for weeks to get the amount of echoes of ny’alotha to get the essence that you originally didnt want to grind weeks for. When hoping to play my alt this week turns out i still have to wait a month to obtain all the essences and i might as well just grind half the lvl 3’s because it’ll be quicker.

Making these BOP just means my main gets a lot of currency that is useless to them. These should have been BoA, like benthic gear. FFS blizz, can you seriously do anything right, this expansion?

Everybody can say what they want, but WoD, with all of its issues, never made me more upset at this game than BFA has. If it’s just me I will shut up and move on but I just do not get what their reasoning is anymore.

I am confused on this whole thing. You worked your but off to get the essence up to rank three/. You did the work for the essence. Now they want you to do the work for alts. Why? This is not about anything but busy work.
I do not pay attention to essence myself. I still think it is work to have some one who done the work. To have to do it with every alt they have. That is both unrealistic and anti consumer. You do not make a paying customer to keep doing the same thing for the same item. That not how you keep people happy . Never understand blizzard or its fan boys mentality on this make you pay with blood,sweet and tears mentality towards someone paying them.

I don’t mind doing work on my alts, as I have to do some, in order to get gear, and level their cloak. What I don’t like is all that work, that I do on my main, is partly wasted as I have currency I have 0 use for.
You’re not wrong. WoD lacked content, but was still better than this trash can of an expansion.

But they had a prefect system for this with the benthic concept. Why they didn’t continue to use that type of system (or a multitude of other good abandoned systems from previous expacs) is beyond me. They’re ridiculously stubborn.
