Hard to say exactly because of the lack of context.
The assumption here is that some RBG groups and Premade groups use flare addons to track players across realms and avoid those players when they are queueing.

Blizzard, could you please clarify whether it is allowed to synchronize queues for more than five players into Epic Battlegrounds, either through addons or external tools like Discord?
If this practice is not permitted, please take action against queue synchronization and penalize players who frequently drop queues.
If it is allowed, then please give all players the option to join Epic Battlegrounds as a full 40-man raid.
We need an official blue post to clear this up.
Very confusing message, whatâs considered third-party software? Addons? Do we have to be careful about what addons we use? Or is this like secondary programs running not connected to WoW itself, which Iâm unaware of what that would even be. It seems like a lot of addons already give a bunch of information about your enemies prior to the match.
OrâŚitâs a sign of a player (sometimes me) that bails after the first lost scrum!? Leaving doesnât registrar a loss. I usually bail a stomp fest/ 10 heals vs 1 stuff we all see from time to time. My win/loss reflects this. Do that for a few months/years and that ratio will look similar.
You guys are this scummy that you need to cheat to win a pvp title?
This was taken from someone that does a lot of epic premades. Itâs totally normal if you just look through their rosters. And sure, they could be leaving, and if so, all the more reason they should be punished. Letâs be honest, if they werenât winning the majority of their matches, what would be the point?
That said, you could just say you do premades.
Stuff like this. OBVIOUSLY they are stacking for wins, right?
There will still be premades that leave after the gates open if they see certain people. If anything itâll create a worse experience because at least before there was a chance that the game would replace them.
Easiest fix: Remove the scoreboard entirely until the end of the match and then give anybody who quits the match a two hour lockout from ALL PvP.
If you want to queue for PVP, then you can play PVP, regardless of who you are playing against until the end of the match, or pay the consequences. Not like itâs real PVP anyway but still.
it just sounds like they will prevent mouseovering the other team from the spawn point and seeing the names in the list before the match starts. idk
i dont see the link to premades.
I wouldnât mind if they broke Battleground enemies. Being able to target anyone across the map to see where they are instead of waiting until you can see them with your eyes remove a bit of immersion.
stricter AFK penalties never get past the screaming baby excuse, people have real legit reasons to quit sometimes and donât need to be punished excessively for it, on top of that if people donât want to play but canât leave, they will just find a corner to do nothing in, when you are trying to pvp having apathetic teammates is worse than having no teammates at all.
afking penalties is something i have put a great deal of thought into and the best solution i have come up with is to make conquest points account wide and then fine players conquest for leaving, 2x of whatever the winning purse was for that match. this would let people buy their way out of games and lets them self manage their own penalties. if someone reaches a -1000 balance, then they get locked out of pvp till server reset when all negative balances are reset to 0. its harsher towards the start of a season, lax towards the end, and keeps people from just rotating alts till they find a winning game while still allowing for people with IRL commitments to make up for their leaving by winning more games later.
Can we get a counter for every match someone /afkâs out of?
I see too many people boasting about their winrates or, âhow youâll never see their name on the defeat screen,â because they will afk out if itâs going to be a loss.
/afk should count as a loss.
nah, it needs to be tracked separately so you can see if someone just afks or if they actually lost.
15W-5L-10DNF is a very different story than 14W-15L-1DNF
I read this as blitz and solo shuffle.
It should. Also abandoned keys should be shown as failed.
I personally would probably prefer better AFK detection than making deserter worse.
You know, the people that go several minutes without coming anywhere close to an objective and never entering combat. It is strange that people can go entire AV matches without leaving the spawn cave.
Could make it for the account and increment by doubling if player leaves X number of times within a Y period. The Y period could be something that is random within a range for each week and could also decrement down after some random number of hours or a day or 2 within a week if no violations have occurred. Could make it into a formula.
Ex of it in use:
Player leaves a BG, normal penalty. They leave again within a Y time range, but X number of times hasnât been met yet, so normal penalty, but once they reach X penalty times within a week, it goes from 30 min penalty to 1 hour penalty (now instead of toon based, across the playerâs account). If they do leave again within the week and before some number of hours or days pass it would double again, to 2 hour penalty. If they stopped doing it for letâs say a day or 12 hours, it would decrement by 1 times, so now it would be 1 hour penalty and if they wait another 12 hours it would be within the normal penalty range (30 mins per toon instead of account).
All bark no bite blizz, sorry but Iâll believe it when I see it.
I do agree, I just think itâs weird it seems all the focus is only on Alterac Valley? Havenât seen mention of any other BGs but I know people AFK in those.
