Obligatory quitting post

Over the course of a weekend, 4 of my friends have quit and so will I. We tried to keep at it and keep up activity, but once one fell, the others followed suit. Now finally i am leaving too.

The game just isnt fun anymore. The content isnt engaging, it feels like a chore rather than entertainment. Top that with every week feels like theres some completely insane decision by the dev team that makes me just facepalm. Most of the changes and fixes are so close to being right, but just isnt for some reason. Like they know what we want of the game and decide ā€œwe’ll give you OUR version of what you wantā€.

Obviously this isnt a constructive post. Simply my sentiments and feelings for why I’m leaving. Thorough, constructive feedback has been given by better people since beta. Theres nothing i can add that hasnt been said, and hasnt been said better.

Peace.

If you’re not having fun, then this is the correct choice. Good luck OP, make sure to convert that gold into Blizzard balance if you can.

Farewells are always the hardest: keep an eye out for fun, frolics and adventure!
And, once in a while, think on us and this poor old game, as we used to be.

Delicately waves a laced hanky in farewell

True. which is why Im sticking to old content.
I just started grinding Tiller rep on one character to get the farm in MoP.
Tons to do for those of us who only started a year and half ago.

Some will pretend that lack of PvP is the reason the game is ā€˜boring’ but anyone can turn Warmode on.
What we cant do is rewrite the content and make it less boring. Thats on blizzard to do.
I will give them credit for unnerfing some of the farming I was doing.
its a bit late now that the interest in the mats died down and I cant make squat on them, but Blizzard seems to have at least tried to make up for trashing the fun of farming some mats early on.

maybe the next expansion will be better.
probably will depend on whether Activision is still calling the shots or not.

I guess the thing about this game right now is that I feel like I need to log in every day to do busywork on it. If I didn’t have to log on to do my emissary quests and do the Assaults, and oh yeah, do the Warfront dailies, and the weekly Azerite quests, and then do that on my alt(s). If all this daily stuff wasn’t there, I wouldn’t feel so compelled to be stuck doing that content. I don’t have to do it, but it makes me feel like I’m missing out if I don’t. I really enjoy Assaults and Warfront battles, but outside of that, I’d kinda rather level some alts or something, but after I’m done doing all of that stuff, I’ve logged like 3-4 hours. I’ve disliked dailies since they first became a thing in TBC.

Without them, I might wind up playing a little less total time, but I’d probably enjoy my time more. I totally could stop doing them, but I will feel like I am missing out. Guess I need to choose.

Think the new one is see you in classic.

Been playing since Classic (vanilla meme), and I’ve decided to let go as well. Might come back for a round or two during the classic server release but I don’t hold much hope for current or future content anymore. Adios.

I would say this is actually a constructive post. You are stating the reasons why you are quitting a game and not being a whiny baby about it. I may not agree with you in all your statements, but I respect your decision and this post. I hope one day WoW will suit you again, and if not, that you find a game that can fill its place.

You know what, I realized at the heart of it, I’m a fan of Blizzard, so…

I am going to blame Angry Birds in 2009 for this, as technically that was the first game for super casuals. And I think it was the start of the whole micro-transaction/slot machine trend too.

I’m also going to blame Farmville.

Blame Korean F2P mmo’s. Because, that’s where it really started.

I’d still blame Blizzard for trying to mimic that filth instead of sticking to what they were good at.

What the old compassionate team was good at. What’s left of them isn’t enough to keep the spirit of the game at it’s core anymore. Sadly.

Obligatory post attacking OP for straying away from the flock.

Ozzyprime, I’m sorry to see you go, but I hope you find something better. I feel like a lot of people will be heading in the same direction as you sooner rather than later.

they tried to do both. pay for the game, pay for the sub, pay for micro- transactions, pay for character boosts to skip over the grind. the idea that they are doing all of these speaks volumes to just how much Activision has done.
there’s no one left in a decision making roll that cares about this game or it’s players. we are dumb little dollar signs on a spread sheet.

I’m absolutely sympathetic with you guys. But I’m not sure why I’m getting all these soulful replies to my cheap, sarcastic message :relaxed:

Yeah the responses to my topic are actually oddly wholesome compared to the usual responses to quitting topics.

well you summed it up well in saying that the game feels like a collection of chores with minimal rewards rather than fun activities with fun rewards

I really feel like the grind/reward changes make this game feel like work instead of fun now
