Join us at the Oasis next Saturday at 2:00 PST (4:00 server) for our very first chronicles event titled “The Black Grimoire”!
A chronicle is a major RP event that happens in the Oasis. They are campaign driven and provide some lore based on the Oasis and its members. This event involves a search for a lost journal, one page at a time. Each page tells a bit more of the story.
If you enjoyed hunting for runes in Season of Discovery, you will love this.
What to expect
- Your character will not directly participate in criminal activity, but you will end up doing a side quest for a criminal
- No loss of control. There will be a brief period where your character gets queasy and may throw up
- No injury or death
What you will need
What’s in it for me?
- The first person to complete the campaign gets a shout out in our hall of fame channel, and receives the title “Heir to the Grimoire”
It is not necessary to play with sound active, but it is highly recommended for immersion purposes.
Come join us as we participate in our first chronicle!

How exactly does it work to have RPers sorta compete to complete an IC objective first? Genuine question, I’m curious.
I don’t expect the entire campaign to be finished in one sitting. It’s meant to be a challenge. My group will probably play it slow and RP, so if a group completes it together the title would be awarded to all of them
To clarify, my question here is more mechanical. Is there a set of campaign notes that are disseminated to guilds participating in the Oasis, and the first group to RP through the described events and challenges gets it? What would a single person trying to do All The Things look like?
It’s a full questline. TRP3 extended allows you to create custom items and custom quests, so it’s more structured than a freeform campaign

Ah neat! So something like, items with triggers and people have to find a location in the world to figure it out and get it to ‘count’ for completion?
This sounds amazing, but I work that day. Will there be any kind of write-up on the events that transpired after? I would love to follow along!
Absolutely!
Even if you miss the in-person event, the campaign will still be available to do on your own time if you would like. Our discord will have a link to import the campaign, and once the chronicle is complete, our website will have a page dedicated to the lore for the event.
After a week or so (assuming the chronicle has been solved) I will post a walkthrough with step by step spoilers so you can still continue the campaign if you get stuck.
This is the first of many, so if you miss this one you’re welcome to join us for future chronicles
