Seems too cut and dry for the end of N’Zoth. I also felt that way about Snoke and he’s dead.
Hopefully there’s more to it. With how much hype Old God’s have been given, it’s way too boring for that to be the end.
At least, one hopes.

Yes. Unfortunately, yes.

So do we win by not doing the raid? Blizzard should have learned by now this is crap when people didn’t like the new Westfall and that Sentinel Hill is on fire forever if you do the story and not on fire if you don’t. That was almost a decade ago.
And I don’t think the part where our neck was loaner gear just like our artifact weapons will be a ruse.
Is Blizzard making World of Warcraft to 12 year olds?
I don’t want to be the super hero or the savior of Azeroth that every major lore character keep referring to me as champion, i was really sick of Khadgar, one of the most powerful and important mages in the story, calling me the champion and licking my boots at every opportunity, and now this? When our characters started to be more powerful than Gods and Titans?
I’m not 12 anymore Blizzard, licking my boots and calling me a the champion of Azeroth and the Alliance each time i kill a Blood Troll on Nazmir or each time i put down a Azerite Elemental doesn’t give me any sense of accomplishment neither make me feel important or powerful, it’s awkward and ridiculous.
Like we were gonna kill an entire old god on our own just by hitting it hard enough in one part of its body.
That would be like if 20 baby gnats attacked the tip of your pinky finger.
I’m willing to bet that’s the cutscene that will be followed by N’zoth’s death cinematic. Obviously Blizz can’t include the player character in the cinematic, but they wanted us to be the big hero, so they slapped that little cutscene together.
The amount of butt kissing our characters receive is ridiculous. We should be one of many heroes of Azeroth. We shouldn’t be THE hero of Azeroth. We do NOT make good main characters. Our characters are mute, generic, and have no discernible personality.
I genuinely believe WoW is slowly ruining Warcraft lore.
Apparently that’s what happened with the last 2 that we killed.
We killed no old gods, we just beat them back into comas while they were already weak.
I suppose we killed G’huun, but he was a teeny tiny whoopsie of an old god that the titans accidentally made, and not a continent sized monstrosity like the others.
That’s what I thought too, but apparently they’re officially dead. It was retconned some time ago.
Yeah i’ma need a sauce for that.
According to this poster that was debating it with me.
This is a valid point! If we follow the generic OP Anime Lazorz formula that usually takes an episode to charge up while yelling, we should have at least had our anime lazor take an entire patch to charge or something. There is still hope that it doesn’t end like this!
Mortis was wrong, he quoted a 15 year old quest at you. It’s been retconned since then with the chronicle.
We merely defeated them, but never killed them. The only old god that was ever killed was Y’shaarj, and that is because Aman’thul ripped him out of the ground, and the resulting wound was barely contained, the residual energies coalescing into the Well of Eternity.
After that, the titans confirmed that killing the old gods was not an option, as they were not sure if Azeroth could survive the damage.
Yeah, that’s what I thought. I know without a doubt that we were told at some point they were still alive, and now it’s apparently been retconned.
Well now everyone’s saying that was ALSO retconned. Apparently we totally can kill them, the titans were just doing it wrong by trying to yank them straight out of the planet.
I consider myself at least decently knowledgeable on the lore in this game, so I don’t have the slightest clue where all of these retcons are coming from. I read all of the Chronicle books, I’ve read all of the dang novels, I’ve got all the Loremaster achievements. Last I knew, the other two old gods were alive and we couldn’t kill them without damaging the planet.
Mortis also provided Blizzcon 2018 evidence in which Blizzard said C’thun and Yogg are dead.
Lore to them is what ever can fit on the back of a hearthstone card. Anymore than that and it’s not disposable enough it seems.
They probably just misspoke. All we did was wail on the tiny portions of their bodies that squeezed out of their containers.
“I didn’t like something. WOW IS FAILING REEEEE!”
These forums need an asterisk that says “The opinions contained herein are not reflective of facts.”
Nope. Afrasiabi basically said “They are dead. But we can bring them back because we can bring anyone back if we want.”
In 2016 they also made a post about warcraft villains, in which C’thun was featured. And it said:
“Champions of the Alliance and Horde chose not to wait for the Old God to build up its strength. They invaded the city-kingdom of Ahn’Qiraj, fighting countless qiraji and silithid before finally confronting and killing the malevolent god.”
Tiny wounds can kill if they are made in the right parts of the body.
I guess I just need to stop caring about the lore in this game because apparently the writers don’t care anymore, either. lol
