It is a 6% to 7.5% nerf at worst… so idk where the numbers are from and balance legendary got a big nerf so don’t really see what the issue is

Not sure why they can’t just re-adjust numbers for later content as needed retroactively though. 20% is very hamfisted and I’m certain it will need to be adjusted again. Its impact doesn’t even nerf Kyrian’s covenant ability which is already our best single-target choice. Going to be really strange having kyrian DK’s.

It was closer to 4%.
He said at worst. It’s much closer to 5.5% now. If all you did was stack mastery then yes, it’s probably closer to 6-7%. If you had some actual diversity, with Crit/Vers, then it’s barely a 5% hit.
Every Unholy DK worth their salt is going Necrolord or Venthyr. Kyrian being good at ST means nothing when NL/Ven give you less downtime.

Ehhh, I said roughly 5% which was the general consensus by all the number crunchers, you’re just splitting hairs, lol.
Besides, every UH was doubling down on mastery, that stat diversity is likely to come in now that the nerfs have been made.
Be that as it may, the point still stands that UH will still be a good spec, but the strong ranged will pull ahead, for now.
You are misunderstanding a lot of things, as others have pointed out.
Our mastery scaling was reduced by 20%. Take the amount someone had before patch, now that’s 20% less effective.
The data is still being pulled. As you can see in Warcraftlogs, it calculates data based on the last 2 weeks by default and you change it to 1 week or 1 day. You will be able to see only data after the nerfs 24 hours after they were implemented.
Unholy will probably stay a really good pick, but not a top 1 anymore I guess.
And yes, Blizzard is clearly favoring ranged dps. That’s why I’m considering switching to tank, even if Unholy is good.
