Now I See Why People Play Classic

It baffles me how these things always turn into stalking peoples raid history and performance.

If someone comes in here all like “I’m a multi gladiator world first blah blah blah, my opinions carry more weight” kind of crap, go ahead and stalk them to verify their crap, but if it’s just broad strokes and opinions on content, i don’t think any stalking is justified :woman_shrugging:

Agreed. But Classics questing is better than retail.

it doesnt need difficulty to still be fun. if it wasn’t fun people wouldnt do it.
the friction comes from getting 40 people together. the fun comes from the fact that half the raid can wipe and still clear the boss if the other half are good/geared. every boss doesn’t need to throw death swirlies at you the moment the fight starts

Yeah, we know you definitely ‘stand’ by what you said. Even when you contradict yourself in the most hilariously silly ways possible.

You do realize that all forms of PvE is scripted in the sense that a good PvE fight requires patterns, right? Souls games are ‘scripted’ just like every other form of PvE. Doesn’t mean that the fight itself is, and definitely not the way you are talking about it, but it just funny to see you ‘stand’ by your self-contradicting viewpoints.

You may not be alone, but fools rarely are. Sadly.

Well when you don’t have an argument you look for anything you can to discredit the person arguing with you. It’s a case of people being unable or unwilling to argue so they just set a requirement for your opinion to matter and then make sure you fall below it.

Goalposts will shift until you do.

If you like the leveling process in classic, then yea.

Sad and true.

Normally, people that raid harder content do so with a guild, a collective of friends, as it were, progressing together through content where most of raiding is a social thing. Pug raids where the only objective is to obtain loot for yourself and ditch the rest is not the standard to judge raiding by.

Well, would you say something is easy when you have no experience in that thing? I know I wouldn’t and I know most people with more than 2 braincells wouldn’t do it either. It’s just incredibly toxic to go around saying something is easy, when you don’t do or have any experience in the content you’re talking about.

people who use this word in the context that you just have can be safely ignored and nothing of value will be lost

No, i would not… but i don’t think anyone is perfect, sometimes people misspeak, choose their words poorly, or flat out say something stupid when they come under attack.

I just think we could all make an effort to be a little nicer to each other, that’s all.

Hey babe wake up. New definition of “toxic” on the WoW forums.

Now take out all the SoD stuff, and think of it like Era since that’s what we are talking about. And how many of those spells would you use vs Ragnaros?

Retail dungeons are designed as much to defeat addons as they are to challenge players. In Vanilla and early expansions it was your character adventuring through a dungeon. Around Cataclysm it started down the road of weird mechanics that become more of a puzzle than an adventure.

It is now guitar hero/dance dance revolution but with dragons.

But fwiw people also take those games too seriously, much like they do this one.

The only thing I miss about classic dungeons is the dungeon crawl aspect of them when the game first came out. It wasn’t rush in pull everything. It was wait try not to get that patrol, CC was huge, LoS pulling. Dungeons took an hour which was super fun.

Now it’s zoooooomies gotta go fast brrrrrrrrrr.

Gotta spin the reels on the slot machine as fast and often as possible for maximum dopamine.

The nice thing about being a hunter is that you can move and fire at the same time.

Not everyone enjoys braindead content.

Which is what classic is.

People do classic because it’s a much easier game.

You mean 20? Established guilds don’t have that issue.

You mean being able to carry people.

To me that doesn’t sound fun. It sounds boring.

If I wanted a chill night with the boys we’d play any number of other games or just do tabletop sim.
