Agreed. There needs to be a “fresh start” server with limited/time-gated layering and the raid exploit fixed. It’s appalling how quickly they let everything spiral out of control.
If they don’t trace and delete the items/gold that have already changed hands then even perma-bans mean nothing and the damage is done
Nope, they did. Preach made a video about it. exploiting bosses got you suspended, tampering with your game files would get you permabanned.
Actually in his video the one exploit from vanilla went… “unpunished”.
The people who modded the game files to skip to c’thun did get banned, but exploiters did not get punished in vanilla, in most cases.
You have only proved your own ignorance with your post.
Firstly, i have never whined endlessy about blizzard not doing anything previously, nor about them doing something now.
I am concerned at the lack of transparency with respect to using an exploit and the inconsistency with which they are being policed and punished.
Blizzard needs to either let this slide as they did with all the other layer hopping exploitation OR police and punish it in a consistent manner.
At a minimum I’d welcome a blue post clarifying why this incident has been handled differently.
I honestly hope Blizzard goes nuts and bans everyone who abused this exploit and at least suspends layer hoppers. I want it to be such a gigantic ban armageddon that all the whiny cheaters and their friends cry about it for months and quit forever, leaving healthy servers in their wake.
A man can dream.
