Yes, I enjoyed the deep dive even though I already know a lot of the process, always nice to get a more intimate peek anyway.
I think this affects a pretty small population, sadly.
The contest was also called “Choose the Next Shadowlands Mount” if I wan’t to be that guy.
Well yes we voted for this because tree is original and we’ve never had anything like this. Did you really want another cat on top of endless cat mounts that already exist but slimy? Or a creepy northrend spider thing? The other options were worse tbh, except maybe the magic book? That’d be cool.

How is it perfect? It doesn’t even look like one of the cool Ancients of War and Lore in Zangarmarsh. No lanterns, no flair, nothing. Just a plain boring low level tree.

Ok, thumbs up for a very different mount. Now make so we can get other mounts in-game and not charge us for good ones.

It’s a bunch of kids playing this game, what do you expect? The same reason Horde dominates raiding is because the kids think the evil things look edgier so they flock to it.
