INB4 people say 50K gold is easy to get. For casual players its not. Not everyone plays the game non stop 24/7/365/366. Most of us have lives and responsibilities outside of the game. I won’t buy a wow token either. My subscription is enough money already.

If there had been any notion that people were going to need a large sum of money to get a once-a-year (or possibly never available again) item, maybe people would have had the time to gather the funds.

How do you not have 50k? And who the heck cares? It’s only for one drake and you can barely see it.

It’s just a gold sink. It’ll be back next year or available some other way.

The day any guild is silly enough to allow me to take 50k out of it, I probably would and bail. Luckily most won’t even let me repair my gear for more than say 10g per day. That’s why I just have my own guilds for all my characters.

It’s not hard to make small lumps of gold, though. Plenty of systems in Dragonflight alone allow for that kind of gold intake. Maybe not in one day, but if you haven’t been making gold and now need this one thing, well, sounds like somebody didn’t control their spending.

It could’ve been cheaper but I didn’t mind buying one to hold onto. Now if it would’ve been extra pricey, I would’ve had to pass. (Even though I wouldn’t have wanted to with Smaug vibes) Anyways I like Petey, I don’t think it fits a pirate themed bird very well but I think someone did a good job on it. Sweet and cute. Wish we had access to him all the time.

I had 300k sitting on my monk, she got it from mog and mount farming old raids. It was long and painful to earn that gold and to get the mogs I needed.

I’m not done farming mogs, going to start SoO soon for monk mogs and mount.

But for 50k it should be all dragon mounts not just one.

Are they? I see a tiny, hardly noticable handful of people upset about it while the majority of people can’t understand how it’s so hard get a bit of gold when the possibilities are endless. Besides… 50k was a “large amount of gold” during MoP. Today it’s just a moderate chunk of gold.

If it was available all year you’d be right, 50k isn’t hard to get. But available only one day, you have to have 50k right now with no prior warning? Yeah, that’s not casual friendly.

The issue is it’s only available for one day with no prior warning or expectation that it would cost 50k gold. If it was just available at all times then 50k gold wouldn’t be an issue at all, even for casual players, but the limited time availability exacerbates it.

I work full time and go to college full time and still manage to get that much gold easily. Even casual players can easily make 30k-50k per week.
