There was no content drought. There was plenty of content in the game. There was just no new raid. Everyone I knew was leveling a ton of alts and having a great time doing it. And that was because of the rdf. What were they doing if it wasn’t content.
Thats the crux of it. These anti-RDF people see dungeons and raids as the only content. And its not just content its THEIR content. You’re not welcome unless you pay the gold for the GDKP. This whole thing is them not wanting to lose their control over a market.
I’ve had this discussion before: essentially, what is ‘content’
To some, it’s new raids, new zones, new story. To others, it’s new tools, new systems, new classes, new races.
TBH I think it’s both…anything that makes you consume the game and spent time in the game world is ‘content’ and as such, you’re right…RDF is ‘content’ in that context.
So you want to give ALL thr credit to rdf?
Ignoring the fact we the players finally got to kill the litch king, a legendary item becoming available, new icc dungeons, exc.
It was all just rdf right? Again you are ignoring relevabt information to make a narrative for your agenda.
People were doing content they had already completed. That is a content droubt, even if they were repeatedly doing the content.
Nope, not ignoring that…that was a major part of the game and a major draw for players. But it was a LOOOOOONG patch (1 year).
Without RDF, players would eventually leave. These leaving players would have caused a drop in subscriber numbers. That didn’t happen because RDF was a major draw for so many…it made the game so much more accessible and I fail to see how that is a bad thing.
So you admit there was a content droubt that extensed the raw time perfentage of how long rdf was in the game?
Do I think it was extended? I have no idea…they probably wanted to release Cata 2 years after wrath and I think it was a little over two years when Cata released, so sure…it was probably extended a few months.
I don’t see your point though…RDF was in the game for about half of wrath. Whether that’s because of delays or anything else, it doesn’t change that fact.
yes, they weren’t raid logging. They didn’t quit the game. They were doing content. And the reason was the rdf was added.
And hence my 36.5% number instead of just saying 25% (major patches only) or 48% (raw time only). Im looking at all the factors, not just 1 of them.
good, people who give ultimatums are toxic and should go find something else to enjoy.
But we are talking about time…why are you bringing anything else into the equation? You are making my head hurt.
I mean, i havent raid logged in classic or tbcc yet except when rl kept me away. If you like to raid log because of no rdf thats your personal choice, not a game design issue.
I’m not going to pay 15 a month to raid log. I’m just not going to play wrath. I quit retail about 5 years ago but since shadowlands is free now and I’ve got so much gold stuck on my characters there I’m messing around a bit with retail. It’s free to play for a few months at least even if I don’t get anymore gold.
So without rdf you are a raid logger? Well thats your choice, but thats not how i will be playing wotlkc without rdf.
Umm it never left.
It still exist in Retail.
No you’re not. You’re ignoring how much time people spent on each activity each week. In wrath while I played my priest one day a week I play 5 days a week on my alts questing and using the rdf. You call it a content drought because there was no new raid but I spent 5 times as much time on alts because of the rdf. Most of the people I know was doing the same. It was the best time for alts in wow and people loved it.
Can you read? I just told you I wasn’t going to pay 15 a month to raid log.
For some reason this seems hard for you to understand. I’ll say it more slowly.
I’m. Not. Going. To. Play. Wrath.
Got it now or do I have to do something else for you to get a clue.
is it bone ranger or b0ner anger?
I mean you would have leveld up by questing anyways if it was truly sticking to original so not sure what your whole point is.
