If my memory is correct I quit WoW after Legion. Then returned for the Battle For Azeroth, but I was so over it I didn’t even get past a few hours of play time. I’ve recently decided to return to the game, and so far I’m very confused where to quest. On returning to the game I was placed in Arathi Highlands (I’m Horde BTW), I did a few quests there and then was directed to quest in Zuldazar. Got a decent amount of levels out of that, then started being sent to low level quest areas which I left. I teleported to Orgrimmar, and was then sent to The Waking Shores on Dragon Isles. But then the quest became low level after a while.
The issue is I’ve returned to Orgrimmar and I have no idea where to quest to not only level but allow me to start the Midnight expansion.
Is it obvious and I’m just missing it?
Welcome back!
No, it’s not obvious.
I could rant for hours about how the devs keep making questing more tangled, complicated, bureaucratic, and simply worse in satisfaction quality. Their ability to make simple things worse borders on the supernatural. Throw in what they have done to the story and characters, and then raise the subject of phasing, and my doctor would be taking my blood pressure with a Very Concerned look.
But that’s a problem larger than the one you have right now, so let’s focus on yours.
Midnight quests become available at level 80. You need a few more before you start. Have you bought the Midnight expansion yet? You won’t get them or level above 80, until you have.
You are over 70 and not in Chromie Time. You want to head for Khaz Algar, in The War Within. This is the quest you want to find:
It MAY be available to you in your Adventure Guide. That’s the red-book-looking button on the right of your bottom bar on your screen. Flip through that to see if you can find it there. Otherwise see if you are (sigh) in a phase where you can see Thrall in Org where the map shows him on Wowhead.
Thank you for the helpful information. If I had not looked for Thrall to see he had the quest chain I’d never have reached Midnight., and it was marked as low level so I didn’t even see his quest mark. Actually after the initial quests when the dwarf is lying in bed I was stuck again. I was running around getting confused because there were no more quests. Oh there was, another low level quest of the person sitting next to the dwarfs bed.
Again thank you.
