I’d play it, and would also be okay starting over with fresh-wotlk again, but what I really want is classic + and new content with classic style.
Surely I will get at least one of those things.

Classic+ would be done by current blizzard, why would you want this? why would you tell people? and why would you try and inflict this on other people and the universe at large?

Yeah I’m the same really. I had forgotten so much about it but the more videos I watch the more excited I’m getting. A lot of cool stuff was added in Cata.
I think Cata has gotten a bad rap over the years because of the world change, but after going through classic so far I think the revamp will be nice. Azeroth as it is now is fine but doing the same quests and being in the same world for years on end gets old after a while, so I’m looking forward to levelling a new character once Cata comes out.
I also think a lot of people have just piled on blindly with the Cata hate over the years, so one mob hates on it and then another just joins in, and before you know it everyone just suddenly hates the expansion but can’t even remember much about it. I do think once we get it people will be pleasantly surprised with it.

Unironically my favorite zone of cataclysm. It was the most unique zone that’s ever been added to the game and I really liked that.

Incorrect, I haven’t played wotlk classic since Naxx.
Im sure thats the reason we all thought it sucked before. The final patch was long and drawn out. People were sick of giving Deathwing a manicure to death.

some people will always be Excited for changes no matter if it’s good or bad, they just want new things.
well…i’m pretty sure some of current classic players will be massively excited in few years when they announce Classic-DragonFlight Even though they’re even playing DF now.

Wrath and Cata are kinda similar in a couple ways, first being that it has a very strong meta, tho not quite as restrictive as Wrath (thankfully).
I suspect the majority of the hate came
from “Wrath babies” who could not handle at all the harder “TBC” like PvE tuning… It really does play like TBC on terms of a lot of stuff, just with some more retail like features.

The biggest things I hated was what they did to talents and the world destruction. Though, flying from level 1, I have heard talked about, that solves the old world silliness. The talents are a big sticking point for me, tho.
As someone who only PvP’s, Cata and MoP were by far some of the best xpacs balance-wise and fun-wise imo. I’m super excited for Cata.

If they leave wrath era servers, I would give cata a try. Depending on what changes they make, might change my mind. After the shenanigans of wrath, I not holding my breath for good changes.
I originally started at the end of classic. I was on UO prior to making the switch…lol. where death = lose all your stuff.
Dragonflight is pretty good although if they cut out the renown and crest currency it could be a lot better.
