Not Getting Invited to M0's

i understand that this might not be something you like to do.

however, you need to get your io over 400 for it to be visible in the addon.

push your own key until you get 400, then your invitations will become more frequent, in my opinion.

your gear is fine for 2s/3s of course.

while I also prefer arcane mage, you might think about running as fire, at least as you start trying to climb key levels. fire mage is much more “meta” right now and therefore more likely to get into groups.

yeah this is what everyone else has been saying, which, while unfortunate, is just a pill I need to swallow.

Yeah it’s something I’ve always dealt with tbh. I’ve always played arcane and it’s been an uphill battle ever since i started playing. I just don’t enjoy the other specs. If i think it’s a real issue or if i start pushing really high content then i’ll consider it more heavily

my personal strategy is to start each season tanking. tanks get invitations more quickly than dps. and when your io score lists your main as tank, people forming groups get an idea that you know the content. and your invitations come a bit more quickly.

not everyone wants to tank, but I tend to like it and this strategy has worked for me.

big brain af tbh. I’d definitely do this if mage had a tank spec lmao. Guess i’ll do this on my monk if i ever don’t wanna play Brewmaster

i tried fire and didnt really care for it, tbh.

but if you want to push on that toon, you might need to play what you have to for a while until you get to play what you want

Although there is no timer, there are still stakes in M0, which are player time and energy. If the lead picks terrible players, the group can end up disbanding because they are not good enough to kill the bosses. Then, the players waste their time and energy, not to mention their frustration.

what mentality?

It’s reality. when a key is listed we often get 40-50 dps signups almost immediately. we only have 1, 2 or 3 spots to fill. that’s a lot of people getting turned down.

you are one tiny fish in a very big sea.

join a guild
make some friends
join a community
join a discord

put some effort into the community aspect of the game.

cool

i’m in a guild that i had initially joined to do content with, i hope this clears things up

I don’t like to create my own groups, it makes me anxious bc if we fail it would be my fault for picking the wrong compsition. I stubbornly apply for hours until a group accepts me BUT another option is to get in touch with your guild and run dungeons with them. Even if they are too high ilevel and doing higher keys than you can, they probably still have alts in need of gearing so my suggestion is to lean on that direction.

honestly nobody’s online when i am (on the other side of the world right now), but even if they are i’ve been too afraid to ask because i kinda forget that people like gearing alts. good idea

I love this response, as let me explain to you what happens when you join a guild (especially if they focus M+).

You join, and you see players actively doing keys, etc. However, after asking to join groups a few times or for people to run your key, you start to wonder why folks are ignoring you? Well it turns out that ever guild is full of small cliques who run M+ together. And since you’re not part of that clique, they don’t invite you. They might offer to join and help you on their alt (who you find out is under geared and will likely deplete your key), but that’s it. After a few weeks you voice your concerns to the folks who invited you, and get told “Help us recruit more players and create your own clique.”

The moral of the story here is a lot of the people in these guilds have been there a long time, they’ve formed cliques, and while they might make promises of helping out etc., the reality is it’s rare. I’ve joined a good 8-10 guilds over the last few expansions and it’s always the same. It’s why I actually prefer the PuG life, run a dungeon, and the odds of ever running with those same players again is near zero. The only community aspect I keep is a list of bad players.

Neh. Filling a group as a lone dps will usually take longer.

OP even confirms this;

25 applications takes like 5 minutes. Its not a big deal. I started +2s last week at 485 and never took more than a few minutes to get an invite. Its mostly about being quick to apply to fresh listings.

i guess not, but i do personally get bogged down when i know i can do the content and just keep getting rejected. personal problem though ig

Ill run some lower keys with you to help you build some io. I can trade you gear I get.

Yeah, we’re only into the third week of the season but you’ve basically been left behind at this point. If you weren’t sweating on day 1 with the rest of the grinders, they aren’t even going to look at you now because you’re ‘undergeared’.

Youre not, the way Mythics are setup these days, its designed to exclude casuals as much as possible.

I appreciate the offer. I’d accept if I wasn’t literally in Japan right now. Maybe in a few weeks once I’m back in america though?

The elephant in the room is starting an M0 as a lone DPS makes no sense. M0s don’t cost any key or anything, you can just run in and go. Why, as a healer, would I join a group where I’m forced to have some random 0 IO DPS in there who might pick a bad comp, when I could simply list my own group with full control?
