They did that. It was called Cataclysm. The zones sucked because they knew we weren't going to play them and just fly over them.

I loved Cata zones. And BC zones, and Wrath zones, and MoP zones. It's weird how the old development team managed to make an awesome game (objectively superior to the modern game in basically every way) without removing flying.

WoW was a better game overall before 2015. It’s been in steady decline since and isn’t getting better.
