Yes. Hence the outpouring of feedback!
…so the devs do not agree that choice is always good. Fortunately.
What, exactly, is the choice? Lone Wolf has been the go-to for MM for a pretty good while now. You used a pet if you wanted to be both a worse version of MM and BM unless your group needed a Herolustwarpaspect.
Except in PvP where you could apply a Mortal Wound or break free of CC, or RoS yourself or an ally, you just didn’t use a pet unless you really need something tanked and another player just wasn’t available.
The eagle should be customizable, for me it’d be the option to not be an eagle at all, but that’s as far as I think it should go.
A lot of people are in denial about this simple fact.
…in certain types of content, yes.
…in other types, not so much.
Yes, which is why I specifically pointed that out. For most things PvE, though, you went Lone Wolf. It’s just not worth having a pet out where the only real damage they do is Claw or some other variant.
It isn’t as much of a choice as it’s often implied unless, again, you just want to be a worse version of two specs.
Yeah, that’s because absolutes are tough, and there’s always one apple in the barrel that manages to spoil the whole batch (to extend this to your argument) by asking for too much or things that are unreasonable.
It’s certainly NEVER been MY go-to, personally …
The only time I used lone wolf on my hunter was engaging a world boss or rare elite with other folks, as the extra damage helped and the pet wasn’t needed to tank.
The rest of the time in open world, I had the pet out to tank for me.
I can’t speak to dungeons or M+ or such like, as I don’t do that.
Destruction Warlock/Evoker.
Frost Mage/DK
Restoration Druid/Shaman
We already have name overlap on specs, it wouldn’t be much different for classes.
So, in everything I do as MM.
