anectodal experiences aside, this has nothing to do with RDF, people had alts before pre-patch, and now with a majority of players still catching up to the herd, those who are already at the herd or ahead do have alts that they could enjoy more if they had a pool of players to group with, until the herd is all together they wont have the option to play their alts in group activity, until they get to the herd on their alts as well.

It was introduced as a catch up mechanic with ICC. Guilds and community were already formed. When Cata was launched is when people started to realize the issues LFG caused as evidenced by the nerfing of heroic dungeon difficulty.

Note that the best social experience in game is done during leveling together with people and simply shop boost is destroying that.
so you believe everything actiblizzard tells you? nobody is going to be forced to run dungeons with RDF, just like nobody is forced to run dungeons with LFG. both tools are just used to facilitate group formation, neither are required to do so.
saying it forces player behavior is the red herring.
you can participate with your server and engage with its community while in RDF, it doesn’t limit your ability to do so and encourages you to bring your community into RDF with you via preform groups.
instanced pvp has been a part of classic wow since phase 2
instanced pvp existing since phase 2 doesn’t prove the removal of RDF protected your social experience

Well, that is understandable if you are working and can not play. Currently in 2022, things are a lot different than it is in 2008. Plus with the Covid-19 Pandemic (Still don’t know when that is going to be declared over by the WHO), and the current inflation that is happening over the world, not everyone will be able to spend as much time in the game as they would over a decade ago. And the community as a whole has changed. People aren’t the teenagers living in parents basements anymore. All, if not, most of us are adults. Having to work full time, and having mostly limited time to be able to play. And not all servers are easy to find groups.
Take my server for example, Remulos. It is an Oceanic PVE server, it is the only Oceanic PVE Server, and it is Alliance heavy too. Currently high population thanks to Wrath bringing people back or people coming checking out Wrath. But the one thing that has not changed on my server, trying to find people to do a dungeon with. Because it isn’t so much finding the people, some people on the server has become Elitist, where if they join your group, inspect you, then leave the group because they don’t like either what you’re wearing or don’t like your class.
It is the same thing also when joining a group too. And the annoying part is, people here will also let the dungeon go for a little bit then leave during the dungeon. And then if you try and recruit and someone sees the first boss down, they’ll leave the group as well.
Is your calendar different because mine says August, September where a shift was made in the thought process as list countless times above.
