Not a fan of the new talent trees so far

Well also remember we’re still missing 10 points because we’re only level 60, so once DF legit drops, then we might have a bit more wiggle room with our talents.

Also Enhancement is doing really good right now!

Insanely important, Critical even (pun intended  ), during most boss fights you will wind up using it about as often as you do fireball, sometimes more. its your filler for combust (ideally you ‘shouldn’t’ need it if you time the combusts right) its your filler during execute. its your filler when moving, its your filler during execute. while it might not make up the highest overall % of your damage, its super important in fishing for those criticals that you need for your pyroblasts.

Its more than just for mobility though, you will use it any time you have combust and you don’t have full stacks of fireblast/phoenix flame. (and with sun kings blessing that can happen fairly often.)

You also use it during execute phase when you can get guaranteed crits from it, letting you chain even more instant pyros/mini-combusts.

See I’m in the camp of not liking the fact that scorch is in the talent tree, and there are a variety of builds that you can put together with the talent tree. but scorch is such a core ability of just about any build that it should be baseline and not part of the talent tree at all. (sure, maybe have an ‘improved scorch’ that activates its execute ability or something, but the base functionality of the spell should be there from the word jump.)

They did a pretty good job of unpruning things in SL, only to roll 90% of it back and lock it behind talents. Points should be used for specialization (thats why its called a ‘spec’ after all) and improving abilities, not for unlocking them in the first place.

How does Enhancement feel? I have been on Elemental so far and it feels awesome thus far. Spells going out left and right. In big groups I tend to normally start with Stormkeeper, then use Chain Lightning, and at that point I tend to have enough Maelstrom to use Earthquake up to around 2-3 times thanks to that 25% chance I am refunded. That is not even including the Storm Elemental and other talents.

Our Single target and Aoe are the same. And we’re basically chainsaws now because Windfury Totem now applies to your off-hand weapon.

Also we combine Ice Strike with Hailstorm and Frost Shock again for maximum damage.

I’ll see about giving the spec a try at some point. I appreciate the info.

I like change. Better then what we had. I do think it needs more tweaking in spots and specs.

Deviation is a choice. You don’t have to play meta specs, you know? The point is freedom and decision making, and I like it.

Deviation is a luxury afforded to people who do exclusively casual content.

There is no “decision” between specing into the talents that put out objectively more damage, or memeing / griefing and getting booted from groups.

I am ready for the luxury I am owed.

Which is a lot of people. So why are you complaining? The whole preset talent build thing means you don’t even have to try that hard to swap between meta specs. It’s tailored just fine to give people choices while still enabling cookie-cutter stuff to go on as normal.

Enhancement shaman not a fan of lack of points tbh i like the abilitys but its all over the place

Bruh. People creating metas isn’t a problem. Blizzard constructing systems which clearly have a meta is a problem. The vast majority of people are going to gravitate toward what is actually good unless they revel in being bad / like being kicked out of raid groups / do not care to do group content.

Outside of having to make some difficult choices between utility/defensive skills I have and adding in more DPS talents, I am enjoying the new system. Keep in mind we are still missing vital points that will make them smoother and more fleshed out as we level in DF.

What

Do you just not AoE???

It’s pretty elitist for the majority of the games population.

It is an ideal scenario really. I don’t feel forced to play a certain way. I create groups and we clear content as we see fit. If people wish to use every load out and change between every pull they have the freedom to now. Having multiple load outs is a great thing IMO and will lead to optimization but I’ll maybe play with 3 builds at most, depending on class im playing.

IMO they could have done something liek this with a true mastery system. A never ending grind that you start at level one. Your mastery of your class increases as you play and you get to invest into nodes for x amount of stat, dmg, reduction over time. Your talents would have stayed relevant to the Mop with this new system to be your growth. Kind of like FFX sphere grid.

That’s fine. I’m not going to be one of the people copy-pasting meta specs. You can do that if you want to.

And that is only corruption and UA, it doesn’t include curse of agony.
