I imagine many people think I’m crazy, but I’m a returning player with massive OCD for completionism - I rolled an Earthen warrior after I unlocked the race and the plan was to farm all the achievements at an appropriate level (level lock) with this new character and play my 80 to farm rep and play with friends when they are around.
Turns out Earthen was a bad choice because they can’t Eat or Drink - so I race changed. I ended up going regular dwarf because they have more customization and I thought someone made a great comment here that the DI racial purge needs to be used offensively to really make the most out of it and I like that the Dwarf splits up Offensive and Defensive into 2 different racials.
I don’t know exactly how the Mole Machine thing works, but I’m going engineer so I figure that’ll offset any transportation benefits the mole machine might have provided.
On a separate unrelated, but more important note - I’m frustrated that my 5k points of achievements over the years don’t show up on the guild roster. It makes the achievement related benefits of warbands to not have the total points show on guild roster IMO.

No - it’s the achievements such as “The Brewfest Diet” Eat 8 of these foods type thing that Earthen can’t do.
I know they can regen health. (and I also know it’s OCD for me to care, but I do). I could get past it if the guild roster showed account achievement points instead of character achievements.

I wouldn’t mind that my Earthen couldn’t eat the food for achievements if the Warband achievement system really felt like it was Warband wide… particularly the guild roster. I think you can right click and compare achievements with people and it’s warband wide, but other places it still shows it per character. If they’d just acknowledge if it was intended or a bug I could make an informed decision about this.
I prefer dark iron.
DI will put you into chromie time dungeons though. If you want to level in normal dungeons I am not sure if you can opt out of chromie time.
I much prefer the Dark Iron (and Earthen) eyes over the eyes for original dwarves…also the hair, but, honestly, the eyes are why I have a lot more DI.

Normal dwarf for me, just don’t really like the dark irons. I love the earthen though.
Here come all the complaints from people who race changed! 
Just to be clear - I made an Earthen alt specifically to farm achievements. My only problem was that there are achievements that require eating foods and the Earthen can’t complete them. (I changed the character after making that post, but that’s me)
Dark Iron look fantastic, if you like that kind of style. Their heritage armor is also very good.
So i would go with DI. But you can look like more Dwarf factions with normal dwarfs if you’re into lets say wildhammer clan.
