While not the pushover that LFR is, Normal difficulty Raiding seems to be an incredibly less significant challenge in BfA than in the past.
This weekend, I joined a group using the LFG tool for an Uldir run and was able to complete the experience with only a few minor setbacks, within 90 minutes.
Is this really how the developers envision how Normal Difficulty Raiding should work, no real chance at failure?
Could have sworn I saw a post not too long ago claiming LFR was too hard. Might be thinking of something else though. As much as I hate to say it, normal for some people is their version of Mythic.
I mean I’d imagine a significant portion of the group outgeared it, especially considering that Mythic 0’s drop 370 and Azerite pieces have 5 rings now.
It’s not supposed to be hard, but personally I haven’t noticed any major difficulty difference throughout the expansions.
I see this as a game design problem and that if players can so easily obtain gear that makes current expansion content this trivial, then something is broken.
My opinion is that even with current tier gear, an expansion raid should not be this trivial.
I suppose some of you don’t actually play the game to enjoy the content for the challenge it should be and are only playing for that chance at pulling the slot machine lever for your “rewards” that just make the game trivial to play.
Nobody should be out-gearing expansion content. Gear should give players a slight advantage so that they can “progress” to the next challenge, not so that it can make everything irrelevant.
If you went and did Naxx in Wrath with ICC gear, do you think it would be super easy? Because it would. I know this because my guild did it back then for our weekly social raid with the lads. We were usually half pissed and spent the entire time making jokes and having a laugh.
I dunno why you’re talking about other people not playing the game for the challenge when you’re not even doing the current raid. Doing the current tier’s raid is not a free ride. I don’t go around picking fights with 12 year olds then telling them how weak they are because I beat them.
Can your raid group be available for me to raid whenever I happen to be online for the few hours it takes to raid that day? I’d love it if you all could just conform to my schedule so that I can actually experience what truly challenging content was like. Thanks.
Not if you don’t already overpower the content they want to do. And nobody wants an unvetted player in their raid group so there’s the chicken and the egg problem.
I think a lot has to do with the ilvl also. People are getting 385 and 400 pieces raining from the sky. I have 5 or 6 ilvl 400 pieces before we started Heroic.
Having said that, normal mode is easier but I will say the Blockade is a decent challenge at normal and Jaina isn’t a decent one as well. Heroic it does increase a lot in challenge for going from normal to heroic (except the first boss is still cake).
Uldir the first half was easy but the final 3 has a bit of a challenge to them. But if you are doing Uldir now, then of course it is going to be cake since I am sure at least 3/4 of the people in your group were way above the ilvl.
